Nice effort by Vitor and as much as it urks me to say this ... props to Jon Jones. The dude is a legend killer, I still hate him. But I give credit where credit is due, this is the most impressive list of 5 back to back opponent I think I have ever seen.

Dan Herderson is fighting Machida, so we will see. I assume that fight is the #1 contenders fight.

I don't think I have heard confirmation of that (I could be wrong) but I think it's pretty safe to assume so.

Not just the opponents, but 4 out of 5 were finishes.  Like him or not, he's 1a to Anderson's 1 P4P.

Hate Jones but the dude at 25 years old has a case for G.O.A.T. that is 5 straight former champs and he finished 4 of them. Love Vitor though. Vitor really put it on him which was nice to see.

I didn't win the event.

I just want to say one thing.

To the followers and everybody of Tap Nation, I’m sorry. Extremely sorry. I wanted an undefeated season. That was my goal, something a Tapologist has never done here. I promise you one thing, a lot of good will come out of this.

You will never see any picker in the entire site pick as hard as I will pick the rest of the season. You will never see another picker push his team as hard as I will push everybody the rest of the season. You will never see a team pick harder than we will the rest of the season. God bless.

Jones defeat 5 form champs. A old Shogun, Rampage and Vitor. Rashad and Machida were the only opponents that he really fought.
Jones fighting 5 straight form champs only proves the lack of new generation in the LHW.
But yes cant denied that he is talented fighter

Looks like Rashad infected Vitor with the 'just stand there in front of him and don't pull the trigger ' virus.
I would've thought he would actually advise him against that.

still, he lasted more than i thought he would and it was a breath of fresh air to watch someone actually attempt a sub on JJ.

Respect.

My Grades:

Cub Swanson vs Charles Oliveria
it was a fairly exciting fight the time it lasted, Oliveria had a good take down and Cub defended well. and then BAM temple shot and a literal hitting of the off switch. Cub is getting back in the picture and I would like him fight The Diamond to see where he is now contention wise.
Swanson: A
Oliveria: B-

Matt Hamill vs Roger Hollett
Welcome back Matt "The Hammer" Hamill, sure he showed some cardio issues but cage rust from a year long retirement. Still his takedowns were very good and his striking worked with it. and awesome GnP. Hollett tried to stay into it but could not connect. Big Props to The Hammer.
Hamill: B+
Hollett: C+

Michael Bisping vs Brian Stann
It was a good fight, not what I expected, but still a good fight. Michael showed his range of striking and ohh.... ohhh... the Takedowns. Such consistent and Great Takedowns over and over in the later rounds. Stann should decent striking but just could not find his range. if he did he would have had Bisping in big trouble. Big Ups to Michael, and not a bad fight for the Marine.
Bisping: A
Stann: B

Joseph Benavidez vs Demetrious Johnson
Great showing of footwork and speed from Mighty Mouse, and the body shot count in the end i showed my inner Keanu by going "WHOA". Benavidez tried to find it, the sub attempt for the guillotine was so so so close, but Demetrious stuck to it. Benavidez needs a slight improvement in footwork but other than that nothing else, maybe a fight with Uncle Creepy for Benavidez to see who does it better. as for Johnson, he is the champ now and he will be fine.
Johnson: A
Benavidez: B-

Jon Jones vs Vitor Belfort
This fight was for me as it was for everybody. a good fight and fairly competitive. And yes after the Arm-Bar attempt by Vitor, i was yelling and screaming cause, I was thinking THIS MIGHT HAPPEN! But Jones's did not tap, and big credit to him for it. after that wrestling is what won Jones the fight. Not much from effective striking from either guys sanding up, which i found surprising from Vitor, but he made up for some of it in the later rounds and his Jitz. Jones was all about the knee kicks, and that may have slowed down Vitor. In the end it was a great submission from Jones, thats 4 finishes in the last 5 title fights. and good for Jones. as for Vitor, the man is a fighter and he showed that he can be a bad ass in 205 as well as 185. I could see Vitor beating some people at 205 not much but some.
Congrats to the Champ.
Jones: A-
Belfort: B-
