Vinny didnt get SOTN because there is nothing special about a BJJ practitioner subbing an opponent with 0 ground game.

Jones mounted and subbed a BJJ black belt while having no formal BJJ training himself.

And now they're saying Belfort had a broken hand.

Vinny's sub was definitely the best & Baczynski was robbed of KOTN. Thoresen was OUT.

Biggest Stock Up: Brimage & Grant, both of whom stepped up out of the middle of the pack in crowded divisions and are now solid UFC fighters still a few wins away from contendership but now make interesting matchups with other solidified members of their weight class. Brimage vs. Siver & Grant vs. Wiman now look like compelling, competitive matchups.

Biggest Stock Down: Watson & Hettes. Watson will be lucky if he isn't fighting on the regional scene in his next fight while Hettes was exposed as a bit 1 dimensional.

I think the whole Bones not having good enough BJJ is kind of nul. The guy subbed Rampage and Machida before. Machida a blackbelt in BJJ who had never been subbed before and Rampage (who started out his MMA career essentially as a submission based wrestler) had only been subbed by Sakuraba before Jones. Jones is extremely well versed in submission grappling.

I felt Magalaes was just above the rest when regarding how beautiful the sub was. It was straight up technique through the entire set up to finish. Pokrajak has faced many grapplers before and was fine. He was only subbed by Khalidov who is well known for his grappling.

Do I feel Vinny was wronged for not getting sub of the night? No because Jones's submission was extremely well set up itself and he subbed a well regarded grappler in Vitor, even though Vitor rarely uses his grappling.

Vitor couldnt tap a white belt, and got tapped by the same white belt. Bones showed heart by not tapping, then he destroyed him in every aspect of MMA, and ends up submitting him, a "legendary Carson Gracie BJJ black belt". Another black belt Bones has tapped out, and another legend he has killed. Wonder how people will hate on him now, gonna be fun to sit back and watch them try. I need to get some popcorn.

Bones is a BJJ white belt, despite having a wrestling background. I say that because when people try and hype Vitor for this fight, they always talk about how he has been a black belt since 1997 or some **** like that, but couldnt even tap a "bjj white belt". Oh my bad, its because his hand was injured, and he loosened up the grip when he heard it pop. Old school lion my ass....

You guys make it sound like Jones doesnt train BJJ at all, yes hes a white belt but I guarantee he has trained BJJ ever since he got into MMA. And @MadMike, yes BJJ and wrestling have big differences but they also have many similarities and its easier to transition from one to the other, especially when going from wrestling to BJJ

im sure he has been trained BJJ, but im sure that its not alot, not even a little bit really. Vitor has been a black belt for over a decade, and couldnt tap a white belt who gave him a armbar on a silver platter. Bones didnt tap, but Vitor did. Thats all that matters, Vitor can go back to 185 happy that Bones destroyed him, and any chance of getting the belt in that division.
