**** the Australia and Brazil events for being so close together. MOVE THE BRAZIL ONE TO A LATER DATE GOD DAMNIT! Why the **** are Charles and Volk's home country fights 1 month apart?!?! BRUH! This is why we can't have nice things. I have no doubt Charles will beat Volk with relative ease (compared to Islam at least) but why is he going to enemy territory AGAIN after fighting their in his last 4 fights and when they're going to HIS home country literally 3 weeks before??? It's not like he's gonna make a quick ass turnaround and fight in Brazil anyway (which is stupid because he deserves it more than anyone. I know they have plenty of Brazilian headliners and that probably wouldn't fit on the card, but he's the champ, Glover isn't. And Charles has earned it FAR more than Glover. Figgy Moreno 4 isnt headliner material) Even if he DID make a quick turn around, the Australia card is literally nothing without Volk, he's not gonna fight in ******* Brazil. Stupid, stupid, planning and decisions from the UFC all around

It doesn’t matter how close together the events are because Volk isn’t fighting Charles next

Emmett will probably be sacrificed to Volk in Australia before he fights Charles or Islam

Emmet doesn't deserve a title shot and Volk was clear he wanted the LW title shot next, but I guess he'll accept a sacrificial lamb for an iconic hometown victory. Still wish we could've had Yair (stop being a ***** dude I'm a huge fan but ***) fight Emmet for an interim while Volk fails to capture a second belt, but whatever. Give Volk his feel good moment and let Charles fight... uhhh idk someone in Brazil

If Charles were to fight someone in Brazil I think it would be someone like Fiziev. If Justin were to accept the fight of course

I don't think there's time for Justin and Fiziev to fight unless they announce it for an upcoming card like tomorrow lol

I think UFC 282 has room for a big fight like that. It is coming around the corner though and Justin probably wants more time

Yeah but 282 is a month before the 283 Brazil card. Fiziev wouldn't have time to turn around and fight Oliveira by then

100% he’s so damn strong in the clinch and he’s the most powerful guy in the division imo

Yeah, the timelines wouldn’t fit up right. If there is another Brazil event in 2023 then Charles should no question be on it

Did you ever think that maybe Oliveira wasn't scheduled to fight on the Brazil card cause he isn't going to beat Islam? lol
Oliveira's only chance to win in this fight is catching Islam with a flash KO or crazy sub. Beyond that he will be on his back the entire night. There is no chance that Islam will risk anything by standing with Oliveira especially with Khabib in his corner giving him advice. He will fight a smart fight. Just like how Chimaev always said smash this and smash that but he knew better than to stand with Li Jingliang or Kevin Holland. Oliveira is just going to get taken down all night long and controlled or possibly even finished himself.
I'm sure that TKO loss to Adriano Martins haunts him to this very day and he will do his best to not let that repeat again.
The next LW title fight will be Islam vs Gamrot in my opinion which will actually end up being Islam's toughest opponent because of Gamrot's wrestling ability.

Islam can't just take Charles down anytime. he needs to time his takedowns very carefully; if he doesn't, this fight will go catastrophically wrong for him. anything sloppy, he's getting subbed. the only question is can he time his takedowns intelligently? regardless, it's not gonna be nearly as easy for him as you're making it out to be

I'm worried Charles only hope in the fight is submission off bottom, Submission of bottom are pretty much impossible to do unless the opponent is gassed, rocked or a big deficit in jiu-jitsu, I don't think the deficit between jiu-jitsu skills is as large as people are making it out to be, Islam jiu-jitsu isn't bad by no means, And no one want a Dagestan wresler on top of them
Charles really need to use his jiu-jitsu to kept the fight on the feet, I think that the way Charles has to win, Charles is a better stiker, I think he would KO Islam if it were on the feet,
I'm taking Islam, I shouldn't count Charles out, I just think the first scenerio is what most likely going to happen, I hope not, I don't like Islam Makhechev and Charles Oliveria is my favourite fighter

Event was announced half a year ago, we've been waiting for some time now. When the fight week starts, it's christmas for UFC fans all over the world. I expect a lot of going on outside the fights. It is Bantamweight and Lightweight special day. Lets go.

Lmao "his only chance is to KO him or sub him" yeah that's like 90% of a fight genius. Islam's only path to victory is decision
