Hoping for Tony vs Mcgregor, the Chandler fight shouldn’t happen

Tony mcgregor would be equally as bad imo. I’d rather see him fight a wrestler like Gregor than a power puncher

At least he'd have a path to victory against Conor though. Tony's ground game seems like a relic at this point, any high level grappler can shut him down.

Outside of a Nik Lentz fight, I don't see what Tony brings to the table against anyone with a number next to their name (same guys for quite a few guys without a number too, Ferguson's washed).

I agree. I think he loses to a few unranked people as well. LW is just that good

I think Tony still can beat Chandler, RDA(again), Hooker, ridell, fereira who are all ranked.

Same apply to Mcgregor.

Riddell and chandler would murder him on the feet. I feel like Ferreira has good enough grappling to beat this version of Tony (especially since he’s been outgrappled in 2/3 losses). Hooker could probably lose to him but I feel like he would damage Tony badly. RDA I could see him beating but I feel like RDA has taken far less damage than Tony and could probably grind out a decision (definitely the safest option for Tony’s health)

For mcgregor I still feel like he can beat a decent amount of ranked contenders. I like to **** on him but like he’s lost two in a row to Dustin poirier so no real shame in that. Granted, he is clearly not the fighter he used to be but he hasn’t really taken an insane amount of damage plus he’s not THAT old. Still loses to a decent amount of top 15 but I could see him beating most of those people besides chandler

Ian Garry vs darian weeks on here, thoughts? My initial lean is weeks. Dudes green but is actually quite a good fighter. Lots of ammy experience including immaf championship. Also has pro boxing experience and a wrestling base. Had a good debut against barberena but fell short. Garry looked a little green cuz he was losing against Jordan Wright until he wasn’t

Yeah but like this is a pretty tough fight for him. I faded weeks in his debut but I can’t lie I was definitely impressed by him. He may have less pro fights but he’s got more experience overall and in combat sports in general. I’m in with the Garry hype but I think he’s a little too inexperienced to win. Weeks is well rounded

I meant Jordan Williams and are you ********? I never acted like he was on his fifth fight I’m just saying he’s green. If you don’t think he’s green you either A. Didn’t watch his debut or B. Don’t know anything about mma. The hype he had going into that fight indicated he was going to steamroll Williams and he didn’t. He was losing the first round until he got the ko. I think he has potential but he’s still inexperienced. You’re literally proving my point by saying he’s 24 and had 1 ufc fight.

Exactly I can’t believe there’s people who don’t think he’s green. Bro lost a round to one of the worst WWs on the roster and people now think he’s beating darian weeks lol.

Ian Garry and Paddy Pimblet pretty much had the same debut IMO, I'm fading both in they next fights,  They debut was basically them getting tagged up by people who don't belong in the UFC, Before getting a beautiful KO, I think I get good odds on they're opponent too, As people are buying into them because of their persananlty

Yeah I mean people are calling Garry the next champ. He’s got skill but let’s slow down a bit he’s gotta focus on not losing a round to Jordan ******* Williams lol. Darian is just better than him here

Also yes, definitely a good betting and pick spot here. I assume majority of tap is going to be on Garry and I know the public will be on Garry because hype > actual skill in the majority of fans eyes. People who don’t know him are gonna say who tf is weeks but don’t realize he’s incredibly skilled and much more experienced than Garry is at this point in his career

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 1 of 3 Winners, 0 Perfect, 50 Points   |   Tied for 5197th

Volkanovski vs. Jung
Alexander Volkanovski, DEC
Good itle fight, albeit not a competitive one on paper. Volkanovski and Jung are both well rounded. Jung can certainly punch and can grapple in all forms. That's just dandy. Volkanovski on the other hand does EVERYTHING at an elite level, and everything at a higher level than Jung. Between kickboxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, clinching, cardio, brawling, and other forms of MMA, I can't find an area Jung is better than Volkanovski in. Dare I say it, I think Alexander is the most complete current UFC champion. An though Jung certainly can end this fight with a slick choke or a heavy right, I just think Alexander is too much for anyone not named Max Holloway. And he beat that guy twice. So I'd look for a shutout; a gradual domination over 5 rounds.

Sterling vs. Yan II
Petr Yan
A great fight between these two. But in terms of ways Aljamain can beat Petr, I struggle to find one. Look, Yan is stationary and Aljamain and Sandhagen have both tried (and failed) to overwhelm Yan with volume. Yan can adapt to that style. The only other area Sterling can contend with Yan is involves grappling, and Yan already took him down like 8 times in their first meeting. It's not that I am counting anyone out here, I'm open to be wrong. I'm also aware that we have seen unpredictable results before in MMA. But I just feel like Yan is the smartest guy in MMA in terms of ring IQ, and there won't be a Pena-Nunes, and there won't be a upset here. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it'll be a shutout. But I do think Yan will gradually grind his opponent out, and dominate as the match goes on. I can see a 49-45 decision.

Dern vs. Torres
Tecia Torres, DEC
Oddly enough, I favor Dern over Torres in terms of who will go further in big stylistic matchups. But styles make fights, and Tecia certainly can defend herself on the ground, as well as can strike. Torres has great outside karate with nice blitzing punch flurries. I see a one sided, boring decision for Tecia as she skirts around on the outside, delivering grazing 1-2 side kick combos on occasion.

Gastelum vs. Imavov
Kelvin Gastelum, DEC
It truly is do-or-die for old Kelvin against Imavov. This is it. And if he fights at his best, he's capable of much bigger acomplishments than beating a fringe top 15 prospect in Imavov. That being said, Imavov is a animal and Kelvin will have to grit his teeth here. His transitions from boxing to wrestling are just too good for the young prospect, and I reckon the old lion will find merits when it is required most.
