Don't get caught up in Ian Garry's rocky UFC debut. That was not the Ian Garry I saw fighting in Cage Warriors. If you don't see that his debut was nothing more than octagon jitters than I don't know what to tell you. Don't know whether people love hating or like just love fading fighters so when their opponent pulls the upset they can seem as if they saw it coming but Jordan William and Weeks are in the same category when it comes to skills and that's a fact. Weeks is primarily a grappler/wrestler and he struggled to control Bryan. At UFC 273 Weeks will have to control a much taller and athletic fighter in Ian Garry which is going to be a lot harder. Ian Garry is the better striker and has power. Bryan also hurt Weeks very bad in the final 10 seconds of that third round against Bryan. As rocky as Ian Garry's debut was the one positive I took was the great TDD from Ian. Jordan Williams struggled to take down and control Ian Garry not only because of the good TDD of Ian but because of his length and height. So explain to me Weeks path to victory ? Weeks striking is decent but it's not world class to out box Ian so worst case scenario striking will be 50/50. Ian has shown the ability to stay on the outside and jab his way to a dec victory (go watch the Jack Grant bout). The line currently has Ian Garry as a -188 Fav I fully expect people to continue fading Ian Garry and what I have to say to them is good luck coz his not losing for a while. (Ian Garry has also been training at Sanford MMA for a good 5-6 months now. On his IG daily his partner records him training with Gilbert Burns, Luque and other great fighters out of that gym).

Predictions: 6 of 7 Winners, 1 Perfect, 350 Points   |   Tied for 4330th

I like your analysis, although I believe it was less about UFC debut jitters and more about unjustified over confidence. DC said that earlier that same day, Garry was so confident in his abilities that he played 18 holes of golf with him, while insisting that he was levels above his opponent. No mental preparation, just wasted energy on golf instead of focusing on the pivotal day ahead.

That fight should have been a shutout -  Instead we were all sitting there sweating it out, wondering if we were gonna lose a large sum of money.

Yup. I don’t think there’s been a single card this year that hasn’t had at least 5 or 6 fights fall off

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 465 Points   |   Tied for 3246th

Du Plessis vs. Curtis
Dricus Du Plessis, SUB, R2
I've picked against Curtis many times so maybe this'll come back for me lol, but Dricus should win this if he stays the course. His knockouts have been taking centre-stage lately, but he began as a ground-based fighter and if he returns to his roots, I think he could break into the top 15

Burns vs. Chimaev
Khamzat Chimaev, TKO, R1
Man, I love Burns but I think Khamzat's the real deal; we haven't seen much from him and I believe we'll see him faced with adversity for once here. Think it just comes down to this - he hits so hard, and given Burns's questionable defense, the straight right or uppercut will toss the fight for him. The first round will be super explosive, and I don't think we get past 5 minutes.

Best card of the year so far no doubt.  I am extremely excited for this one.

Chimaev by TKO!

All you gotta see is Burns fight with Dan Hooker to see exactly what will happen in this one.
