If Overeem is smart he'll get to the ground as soon as he can, he's got some really underrated (and underused) grappling. The likelihood though is Harris catching him early, definitely one of the quickest strikers in the division
Song vs. Vera

While Vera has good grappling Song was able to hang with one of the strongest wrestlers in the division in Stamann, his best bet will be keeping at his range with kicks but Song is gonna want to go to the ground. By far Vera's toughest challenge since Lineker
Elkins vs. Landwehr

Well I thought it would take longer for Nate to come across a good counter striker to obliterate him but there you go. With that being said even if he hasn't been tightening his defence since then I can't see this ending well for Darren, even after all those brawls he still relies too much on his chin. In the end Nate just seems like the stronger and faster version of him

i hope i'm wrong, but i don't really get walt as a favorite. i'm taking reem wherever he decides to play it.

on paper, this is all claudia, just based on grappling ability. hill could piece her up at range, but she always has trouble when girls get inside and i think claudia is durable enough to wear a few shots to do so.

i like ige because he skates, but for some reason i'm expecting edson to look great tomorrow.
Anders vs. Jotko

tough pick. jotko is more technical and has the experience edge, but i'm not sure i trust him in terms of volume against a forward moving tank like anders.

it always "looks" like vera gets lucky when his aggression nets him a win, but i see song being able to slow the fight down perhaps and take him to scorecards where he has all 5 of his losses.
Brown vs. Baeza

hard to gauge baeza off the aldana win, i'll go with nostalgia. experience worked for the older guys last event.
Holland vs. Hernandez

another pickem. hernandez beat brendan allen who beat holland so i'm picking mmamath to fail.

props to rivera for stepping up, and maybe he can pull off an upset, but i'm gonna go with a more palatable pick. everything round 2.

classic elkins first round, but with a comeback sub in the second? sounds like an acceptable pick.

i can't pick either of these girls' fights properly. never know what you'll get with casey so i'll take borella to change levels and keep her guessing.

i can see why many are favoring rodrigo, definitely comes off as the better resume to me, but the bookies have it as a pickem so i don't feel as bad taking mayes to outlast him for a decision.

It worries me when someone is making their UFC debut with so much hype in the heavyweight division. Nascimento has been steamrolling through guys in the first round, but what happens in the 2nd? 3rd? I think this is a lot closer than the odds suggest. Nascimento by split decision.

hernandez is a fun fighter to watch and I think it will bring out the best holland. I still remember that great fight holland had with thiago santos. Holland needs someone to push the pace for him to wake up

Barboza is the best fighter Ige has ever faced, by a considerable margin. The only question is : at featherweight, is Barboza the same fighter ? If so, Ige is in for a painfull night.

Chikadze has been a nice surprise thus far. He showed he can at the very least be a fun action fighter in the division. Davis was a tough fight, but he should win this without problems.

Honestly, this fight was tricky to breakdown. Mainly because of the tragic circumstances surrounding Walt Harris. If that was taken outta the equation, Walt Harris would be the pick w/o a doubt. But there's sooo many unknowns, that I truly dont know how much that will hinder or motivate Walt. He can come out and trash Overeem like everyone else seems to be doing lately, or it could completely & understandably overwhelm him until he succumbs to the pressure. And even Overeem is in a weird situation. He knows that the world WANTS him to lose, because it'd make for an outstanding storyline. So really, my pick is Walt Harris. He's got all the tools to destroy Overeem. It's all going to come down to how well Harris can control & utilize his emotions.
Gadelha vs. Hill

I still can't believe Angela Hill isn't ranked. But to be honest, and this is coming from a Gadelha fan, Angela Hill has as good a chance as any to not only get into those rankings, but to also jump ahead of a buncha fighters. I think this is a very winnable scrap for Angela. Especially if the same Angela Hill from the last 4-5 fights shows up. And to factor in how Gadelha almost always fades halfway thru, it could allow Hill to really piece up Claudia & take over the fight en route to a decision win. But....... Angela Hill still has below average TDD. And could prove to be absolutely horrendous. Even if Gadelha ends up fading, she should still be able to put in enough work early on, to take the win. Idk why ppl are so salty about this fight. I think it's a great fight.

This is my pick for Fight Of The Night. Guaranteed carnage. One little tidbit for you.... Now think about this. Edson Barboza has ONLY 2 finishes dating back to November 2014. Just 2. And both came in his last 2 wins.
