There is a good chance for someone to get knocked out here, but I see jan Grinding santos out slowly. Even though santos just murdered manuwa in his last fight It wasn't long ago that he got murdered by David branch.

Jan has a nice jab, good checks and a surprisingly good lead leg head kick. Decent counter striker with decent power and a submission game.  Thiago brings the fire.

I can see either winning by KO or SUB depending on what happens the first time someone gets clipped.

Thiago will likely be moving forward as he will be the bigger guy so I favor him for a finish but am worried he will eat a counter and take a nap or make a mistake in the scamble and get subbed. Jan may try to grind out a decision but I don't expect that to go well for him.

I think Thiago gets it done under 1 1/2rds by straight up violence. I favor him over Lionheart if they rematched at LHW. Marreta by Rd1 TKO

Błachowicz vs. Santos
Thiago Santos, TKO, R2
I liked Thiago Santõs at Middleweight... I like em even more at Light-Heavyweight. He's ultra violent and just absolutely fun to watch. If I was showing someone new to MMA, I'd show em that war with Thiago Santõs vs Anthony Smith. ******* goood ****.. And with Blachowicz, I always end up picking against him, and been burnt more times than not. But I just can't pick AGAINST Santõs.

Predictions: 9 of 13 Winners, 5 Perfect, 640 Points   |   Tied for 230th

Dodson vs. Yan
Petr Yan, DEC
I was hype about Petr Yan from the start.. And hes only gotten more and more hype. They finally give him a great fight that'll move him even closer to that Belt I truly believe he'll hold one day. This kid is forreal. That being said, sooo is John Dodson. But I think it's a great fight, either way.

Teymur vs. Fishgold
Chris Fishgold, SUB, R2
The Teymur Bros. are legit strikers. Which allowed them to focus more on their other MMA tools, which allowed them to progress rather quickly into a martial artist rather than just a kickboxer...... BUT. Fishgold is an animal and surely way better in the level of ground game.. Didn't his brother just get strangled??

Robertson vs. Macedo
Gillian Robertson, SUB, R2
Gillian Robertson is a Savage. what a great nickname. cause you wouldn't think she'd strangle you unconscious or rip your arm off and take it home with her. She's fun to watch. She reminds me of a female Brian Ortega. She's usually losing on scorecards, but she also finishes her fights, sooo scorecards don't really matter anyways. Going with the unpopular pick here.

Hadžović vs. Reyes
Polo Reyes, DEC
You could make a case for Marcó Polo Reyés record being a little deceiving.. Cause he's a lot better than his 8–4 record suggests

Prazeres vs. Naurdiev
Michel Prazeres, DEC
Maaaaan.... What a tough draw for your UFC debut. Still better draw than Lando & Horcher had in their debuts. A win would be a tough task to complete, Prázeres has ONLY lost twice in 28 scraps. We'll see I guess. Goood luck Naurdiev, you're gonna need some

Khabilov vs. Ferreira
Rustam Khabilov, DEC
Diego Ferreíra hasn't looked better, ever in his career than now. He's always been fun to watch, but it's a little more measured now, you could say. This should still be a fun fight for the fans.

Ehhh I dunno about dominate. Naurdiev shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. He's actually a very good fighter and I wouldn't be shocked if he won a decision here at all.

Predictions: 5 of 8 Winners, 3 Perfect, 365 Points   |   Tied for 1611th

Błachowicz vs. Santos
Thiago Santos, TKO, R2
Don't see this going the distance. Santos wins via KO in a wild swang-and-bang fist fight.

Struve vs. Rogério de Lima
Marcos Rogério de Lima, DEC
Struve should retire even though he's 31. He's lost his heart for fighting. De Lima wins in a meh affair by decision.

Villante vs. Oleksiejczuk
Michał Oleksiejczuk, DEC
Probably split decision finish. Villante could win, Michal could win. I'll just go for the other guy because Villante bores me.

Carmouche vs. Pudilová
Liz Carmouche, DEC
Picking the more experienced fighter to get a blah decision win and remain a top 125 lbs. contender.

Dodson vs. Yan
Petr Yan, DEC
John Dodson is overrated. He's lost a lot of speed over the years. Yan will brutalize Dodson en route to a decision win. Possible TKO.

Teymur vs. Fishgold
Chris Fishgold, SUB, R2
Can't say I'm 100% on the outcome but I hope Fishgold can use his submission work to get his UFC win.

Hadžović vs. Reyes
Polo Reyes, DEC
Could be a sleeper fight. I see Polo Reyes winning by 29-28 decision in a banger.

Khabilov vs. Ferreira
Rustam Khabilov, DEC
Khabilov should be higher on the card at this point but alas he'll smesh Ferreira for the Dagestani wrestling dynasty.

That's the problem with predicting fights of debutants.

You don't know how their ability to control the fight against lower competition translates into high level competition.

Prazeres path to victory is clear. Work the takedown to a choke and call it a night. Naurdiev has some striking to present problems, but his ground game is a weak spot. Expect a submission win by Trator.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 7 of 13 Winners, 4 Perfect, 505 Points   |   Tied for 935th

Błachowicz vs. Santos
Jan Błachowicz, SUB, R4
always the chance santos lands big. jan is durable though so i think he can avoid the early bursts and force a grind.

Struve vs. Rogério de Lima
Marcos Rogério de Lima, TKO, R2
oh this could be really fun while it lasts. de lima is gonna hurt him early, the question is does he make a mistake after? we'll find out.

Villante vs. Oleksiejczuk
Michał Oleksiejczuk, TKO, R2
it's hard to pick villante fights because he looks great one minute and awful the next so i'll guess he gets clipped this time around.

Carmouche vs. Pudilová
Liz Carmouche, DEC
liz's skillset is still effective in wmma today, she just needs to get inside to use it. not too big of a reach disadvantage so it should be achievable.

Dodson vs. Yan
Petr Yan, DEC
this is an uphill battle for dodson just based on stylistic matchup. he's gonna wanna do his strike and bike and counter thing and he's gonna end up moving backwards the entire fight. against a lot of guys, he can stay effective this way by making them miss and pay, but i think yan's punches are gonna score higher because of his commitment.

Ankalaev vs. Farias
Magomed Ankalaev, TKO, R2
had no idea who klidson was until just now, he actually looks like a good signing. i'm afraid his success with submissions is gonna put him in compromising positions in this one though and that's not a mistake you can make with ankalaev.

Pedersoli vs. Grant
Carlo Pedersoli, DEC
grant is definitely a big puncher, but doesn't seem much of a threat in terms of wrestling or bjj like cowboy was so i think pedersoli can relax a little more and stay fluid to make grant miss.

Teymur vs. Fishgold
Daniel Teymur, TKO, R2
i know he got tired against henry and arce outclassed him, but i'm gonna go against the grain here and say that teymur can catch fishgold while he's stationary. just not fully sold on fishgold's record and reliance on finding subs.

Robertson vs. Macedo
Gillian Robertson, SUB, R1
felt like macedo was brought in to lose to smith and lee, and it happened. even if she can land something big standing, i'm unsure she can stay composed enough to avoid jumping into gillian's guard and getting caught.

Hadžović vs. Reyes
Damir Hadžović, TKO, R2
i hope this one is as exciting as it looks like it can be. polo makes it hard to not root for him with his go for broke style, but i'm skeptical of his resume cuz he has only beaten guys who weren't ufc calibre while damir has beaten a couple legitimate ufc fighters already.

Prazeres vs. Naurdiev
Michel Prazeres, DEC
something inside me likes prazeres, probably the same part of me that likes trinaldo. ismail doesn't seem like a pushover by any means, but you're gonna need to spark someone like michel quick if you wanna avoid getting smothered and idk if that'll happen here.

Khabilov vs. Ferreira
Rustam Khabilov, DEC
this fight should be higher up on the card even if it's not necessarily going to be an entertaining one. i think it's gonna be an evenly matched bout with rustam pushing forward a little more.

Ismagulov vs. Alvarez
Damir Ismagulov, DEC
not sure what to make of this fight. damir is understandably the favorite, but he didn't look amazing against who we thought would be an overmatched opponent in gorgees. alvarez relies on finding a sub though and i just think that's a big ask in the ufc unless you're a real deal top notch bjj guy.

Predictions: 8 of 13 Winners, 1 Perfect, 485 Points   |   Tied for 1085th

Carmouche vs. Pudilová
Liz Carmouche, SUB, R2
Would pick Carmouche to repeatedly perform bodylock takedowns for an easy decision if not in Pudilova's hometown. Lucie is ferocious and far more active which will bode well with judges. Believe Carmouche is at good place in career and manages to come into Prague and finish the hometown girl, possibly via guillotine.

Prazeres vs. Naurdiev
Michel Prazeres, SUB, R1
Naurdiev looks to be a lower-tier UFC fighter at this point in his young career. Michel will have his way with him. Could take down and submit within a few minutes. Also very capable of knocking out his opponent. Naurdiev's chances fall within the realm of a spinning technique. Less than 10% chance of winning IMO.

Ismagulov vs. Alvarez
Damir Ismagulov, TKO, R2
Alvarez looks extremely green. Ismagulov should have his way with him. I believe a stoppage will be a priority for Ismagulov and that's what we'll likely see.

Got Diego Ferreira in this one, based on seemingly superior jiu-jitsu skills. This fight will most likely end up on the ground with Rustam shooting for takedowns to mitigate Ferreira's aggressive striking offense and Diego looking to reverse positions or play an active guard game to land elbows from bottom.

Błachowicz vs. Santos
Jan Błachowicz, SUB, R4
Tough fight to pick. Santos is a MANIAC and I wouldn't be surprised if he overwhelmed Jan but I like Jan to survive the initial onslaught then takeover late

Villante vs. Oleksiejczuk
Michał Oleksiejczuk, TKO, R3
Villante SUCKS! Easy pick for me. Only tough decision is whether or not it's a Decision or a late TKO? Villantes skulls thick enough to take punishment but he gases HARD!

Dodson vs. Yan
Petr Yan, DEC
Another Russian super prospect! How long until we have Russian champions in every divisi? Only questions whether Dodson survives 3 rounds, he's never been TKO'd against the best at 135 & 125 so I doubt it but chins don't last forever!

Khabilov vs. Ferreira
Diego Ferreira, SUB, R2
People sleeping on Diego! I've not been impressed with Khabilov since he was suplex TKO'ing fools back in 2012! Nowadays he's a boring tentative staller! Diego puts it on him similar to how Bendo beat his ass!

I'm very split on this fight. I think Jan might weather the storm and catch Thiago in a sub in the later rounds or win a decision. But, something is telling me that Santos might be able to overwhelm him in the early rounds so I've got him by KO/TK RD2
