I do feel he got lucky.
I do feel Adesanya will be smart this time.
I do feel Pereira cuts too much weight.
I wouldn't be surprised if he missed weight this go around.
Adesanya is an Anderson Silva without a blackbelt in BJJ. (I think he's a black belt)
Adesanya has been pretty boring since 2020.
Adesanya's loss to Blachowicz will keep him out of one of the GOAT talks.

Nah you can't do that. Jiri accomplished so much before he got a title shot. Same as Anderson Silva.
When people say they had an easy route to the champion I feel like it is meant as a slight towards the fighter. Like they didn't earn it.
Can't say that about Jiri.

There will be moments when Izzy looks like he’s getting results with boxing & grappling. Leg kicks will get to him sooner this time. When they are both out of gas on R3-R4 from all the grappling, Poatan’s signature hook will eventually get through.

Pereira also doesn't cut a crazy amount of weight but I do agree he will eventually be a LHW.
Finally, there's nothing embarrassing at all about anything Adesanya has done in the UFC. Saturday will be his 10th title fight in exactly 4 calendar years. The next closest in the promotion by my count is Volk with 6. People can say the guy fight's boring but he consistently beat every opponent the UFC put in front of him on top of beating Pereira on the scorecards before getting finished.

If at his heaviest he's 235-240 but regularly walks around closer to 220, that's still 35lbs which to me is a lot of weight. To Alex Pereira, cutting ~20 of those 30lbs might be really easy to him. Again, I can only go by his own comments but because he's already 35, I'm willing to wager it's not going to continue to be easy or as manageable for him as it has been.
I mean there's a picture out there of him standing next to Dom Reyes* where Reyes either looks like a welterweight or Pereira looks like a heavyweight. I think Pereira might have the scariest physique in the UFC with either Jiri or Pavlovich a close 2nd.
