That’s a fair point, but just by looking at the stats ponzi doesn’t throw as many leg kicks as he used to. I think he’s really just a different fighter at this point; age and damage have caught up to him. I think that war he had with baeza took what was left of prime ponzi. his last three he’s still been very competitive, but he’s clearly lost a step. He is slower, damage really starts to wear on him in fights, his gas tank is definitely not what it was, and to get wins at this point, he has to make fights ugly brawls, and I don’t think his body can support that style anymore. Kevin holland may have a lot of shortcomings (maybe even more shortcomings than positives at this point), but he is huge of 170, and fast af with the power of a Mac truck. I think ponzi is gonna try and make it ugly and just get touched up by kevin

Anyone know why Chiesa has been out since end of 2021? No injuries or cancellations disclosed on tap.

Edit: Goddamnit the fight is off? I just started capping this card and of course I'm sat looking at the fight that gets cancelled right off the bat.

Holland lost that fight to Wonderboy as one of his advantages is that crazy reach. When you fight a Wonderboy, the kicking game nullifies that advantage + the fact that Thompson is a boss striker.
Based on Holland's record it seems risky to bet on him, but he's never been truly KO'd & has mostly lost to grapplers in the UFC

Pereira vs. Adesanya II
Alex Pereira, DEC
This is my fight of the year, Pereira was my fighter of last year, been watching him for years, watched his Glory Kickboxing fights live, surreal to see him now as UFC champion, if he wins this he cements himself as one of the greatest martial artists ever

Burns vs. Masvidal
Gilbert Burns, DEC
They are the same age almost but Burns seems alot younger... I suppose Gamebred has been in many wars now, going back to his bareknuckle and street fighting days

Font vs. Yanez
Adrian Yanez, DEC
Great fight it will be a kickboxing battle likely and Font 0-3 in 3 ****... He was on the cusp of a title shot

Rosas Jr. vs. Rodriguez
Raul Rosas Jr., DEC
Main man Rosas! This kid is the future and he is already built like a man

Holland vs. Ponzinibbio
Kevin Holland, DEC
This could be a really good fight, could swing either way and likely will, Santiago likes to jump in and wing bombs or he did in his prime

Calvillo vs. Godinez
Lupita Godinez, DEC
5 in a row for Calvillo terrible skid

Waterson-Gomez vs. Pinheiro
Luana Pinheiro, DEC
Waterson has faced a murderers row

Garcia vs. Nuerdanbieke
Shayilan Nuerdanbieke, DEC
The Chinese Invasion!

Gastelum vs. Curtis
Chris Curtis, DEC
Curtis is a beast a real MMA fighter, terrible skid for Kelvin

Meerschaert vs. Pyfer
Joseph Pyfer, TKO, R2
Damn 50/50 after almost 1000 picks

Chiesa vs. Li
Jingliang Li, DEC
The Chinese Invasion!

Hughes vs. Amorim
Jaqueline Amorim, SUB, R3
Another solid Brazilian and at ATT

Barnett vs. Sherman
Chris Barnett, TKO, R2
Im a huge Beastboy fan, I like Sherman too I watched in him bareknuckle, its a pity about his issues... Barnett is an over achiever though

Santiago vs Holland

Predictions: 6 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 405 Points   |   Tied for 2329th

I like turtles.

I like this fight a lot too. It seems to be a smart way to book both after their previous few fights.

If Santiago can manage the distance and win a UD or win via TKO over Holland it says a lot to his ability going forward. Personally I think the boat sailed on him sadly. He will give us some fun action fights for a few years but I do not see him beating most top 10 guys anymore.

Holland having the speed and reach advantage will be crucial here. Santiago has issues lately being defensive and offensive at the same time. When he is stepping in looking to connect he can leave himself very vulnerable.

With Santiago being on the wrong side of this I think he will get caught coming forward or potentially in a boxing exchange. I am not sure his chin will hold up this time either.

Holland can be beyond frustrating with his inconsistency but I think he finds a TKO in the second round here. Holland via 2nd round TKO

Rah

The thinking is that it juices my parlays and sets me up to hedge on Masvidal at the end of the night.. This past week I did Sandhagen/Vera to start round 4 and hedged the other way.. I could see Pereira/Adesanya goes the distance being a good spot alternatively, but I havent seen the line on that yet

Typically I'm just looking for a hedge around +300 so I'm not spending an arm and a leg on insurance

With Holland vs Ponzi, I don't think Holland bad fight IQ will matter as much, I think Kevin Holland bad fight IQ is more with the grappling then the striking, I expected Holland to stand and bang with Ponzi, LIke I expecting Holland to do the same with Wonderboy, The only different is Wonderboy is actually still an elite striker at 170, I don't think Ponzi is,

Also Wonderboy is way more durable the Ponzi, Expecting Holland to KO Ponzi

Yep I see your angle. I do think Masvidal can win this though (probably give this a 50-50). It depends on his takedown defence imo because on the feet Masvidal will piece apart Burns. I think people forget that Masvidal is a decent wrestler though need to look into his takedown defence.

I like the hedge though.

Font vs. Yanez
Adrian Yanez, SUB, R2
rob font don't have a chin, but he hasn't been knocked out clean yet, i expect it to be pierre-bisping style, unloads, font exposes himself, gets taped, prob armbar

Gastelum vs. Curtis
Chris Curtis, DEC
kelvins been losing, and pulling out of a fight ain't a good look, still has that chin on him, expect him to get rocked, he can win, but i think chris got the steam to not quit, while kelvin been outclassed before, he knows that feeling too well

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 5 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 340 Points   |   Tied for 3713th

Pereira vs. Adesanya II
Alex Pereira, TKO, R1
I see a 1st round TKO this time coming from Alex Pereira, I see Israel Adesanya being to confident in his wrestling, Pereira defending a takedown and then immediately clipping Adesanya afterwards.

Burns vs. Masvidal
Gilbert Burns, SUB, R2
Second round rear naked choke for Gilbert Burns. Let’s not underestimate Jorge Masvidal though.

Font vs. Yanez
Adrian Yanez, TKO, R3
Adrian Yanez dominates and finds a late TKO.

Rosas Jr. vs. Rodriguez
Raul Rosas Jr., SUB, R1
Early submission win for Raul Rosas Jr. Rear Naked Choke.

Holland vs. Ponzinibbio
Kevin Holland, TKO, R1
1st round TKO for Kevin Holland, late in the 1st round Ponzi will be clipped.

Calvillo vs. Godinez
Lupita Godinez, DEC
30-27 unanimous.

Waterson-Gomez vs. Pinheiro
Michelle Waterson-Gomez, DEC
29-28 close Decision win for Michelle Waterson.

Garcia vs. Nuerdanbieke
Shayilan Nuerdanbieke, TKO, R2
Second round TKO win for Nuerdanbeike.

Gastelum vs. Curtis
Chris Curtis, TKO, R3
3rd round TKO from Chris Curtis due to bodyshots. Although I am rooting for KG.

Meerschaert vs. Pyfer
Joseph Pyfer, TKO, R1
Meerschaert is gonna get hurt real bad in this one against Joseph Pyfer.

Hughes vs. Amorim
Jaqueline Amorim, SUB, R2
Not much to say here.

Barnett vs. Sherman
Chris Barnett, TKO, R3
Chase Sherman will gas out and Barnett will bully him.

Can you explain why it better to hedge with Masvidal instead of just taking Burns out of it because it just doesn't make sense to me????, If you think Burns can loses at -600 or whatever he at, Why bet him?????, I think you make more money leaving it out than planing to hedge
