Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 0 Perfect, 450 Points   |   Tied for 2818th

How does Muhammed the far more well rounded fighter even come close to losing this match up? i missed the +200 window but even at +180 i just find those odds to be astounding.

Are you ok? Belal doesn’t have the wrestling capability to hold down wonderboy nor is his striking anywhere close

Belal is going to get sniped the whole fight 🤣🤣 His pace is too slow and as Lmaonnaise said , he doesn't have the wrestling credentials to when get Stephen down.

Watch all of Lewis' knockout losses...they're all pretty bad tbh.

He got destroyed by Mittrione , Shawn Jordan , Mark Hunt , beat and choked out by DC , mauled by JDS and then picked apart by Gane.

I love the fact that he is 16-6 in the ufc and has been ranked for the majority of his tenure, yet he possesses almost 0 qualities of a fighter and relys on just power alone. Its hilarious and incredible at the same time.

I think it's really bold to assume that Belal can't have any success in this fight. The way burns beat him is the exact same way Belal wins all his fights, and he's a true 170 not a 155 that got tired of cutting weight. He pretty much dominated all his lower level fights with this. The only thing you can really look at is 1 round of the Leon fight, whose younger and probably better than wonderboy at this point in time. And even then Belal managed to get him pressed against the cage for a bit.

I still think Thompson probably wins, but I think it'll be a lot closer than you guys seen to expect. Personally I'll take the Belal +3.5 point spread at plus money I think he should at least be able to win 1 round. Thompson via split or 29-28 uni decision.

yeah but look at belals track record against elite strikers. Leon was getting close to finishing him before the eye poke, Luque separated him from consciousness in under half a round, neal almost killed him in the third round, and even jouban (good fighter but far from an elite striker) had three knockdowns against him. He just doesn't do well against elite strikers and when you look at how neal and Luque fared against wonderboy (granted I think current Luque would beat wonderboy), they got destroyed. I dont want to use mma math but if belal cant figure out how to beat them, let alone survive getting ko'ed, then how is he going to figure out the most complicated striker in the division and maybe even the ufc?

Also I just really dont think belal is as good as his ranking. His one ranked win was against 44 year old Maia. besides that his best win is probably randy brown? he has lost to every step up he has faced too, and this fight is just below the Edwards fight for the hardest fight of his career.

It’s not like it’s a guarantee that belal can hold him against the cage either. Belal doesn’t have the grappling credentials that Gilbert or Tyron had, hell, he doesn’t even have the grappling credentials that Matt brown has. In order for Belal to clinch him/take him down requires him to actually get close to wonderboy. Wonderboy has great fight iq and spacing, he’s not just gonna let belal walk in and attempt takedowns. In order for belal to attempt takedowns, he would have to figure out how to avoid getting hit, which goes back to my earlier point of Belal not being able to figure out wonderboys striking

You definitely have a point but those guys are a bit more well rounded to defend the pressure of Belal while WB is more of a striking specialist that's relying on hitting you before you can close the distance. But if you can you get in on him like burns it's trouble. The luque fight was a bad look no doubt. But the other two when I look at the stats the striking numbers were really close, but I assume they were landing the harder, better shots being there was knockdowns on him. But its not like those guys were pricing him up on the feet with nothing back. Also looking at the weird scorecards from jouban, it looks like Belal had a point taken and may have gotten a win otherwise?

Tbf I usually don't say **** until I watch tape and whatever and I haven't here, just a pre tape read I guess

I mean yeah any of those guys would beat Belal in a grappling match, but this is MMA. Belal has never really been much of a grappler he is all positional. He holds you against the cage and the ground. It's usually boring when he's winning.

That’s a good point but I think it’s also a styles thing; neal loves a good brawl so it naturally makes sense belal would be able to match him or at least be close on the numbers. The jouban fight is likely because belal is better than him, but the three knockdowns is a very bad look. I just really don’t see him figuring out wonderboy. Belal just has a lot of problems too; his chin is pretty suspect for someone who has only been ko’ed once, Lyman good ****** him up good in the third round, Diego Lima was really starting to **** up his leg too. Wonderboy has also been a fixture of the WW division since before Belal was in the ufc too. I think belals lack of competition will play a role too, as is top 15 record stands at 1-3 (we all know he wasn’t beating leon).

Belals notable wins are old , washed up veterans. He'd be lucky to win a round. And you'd think after the Burns fight , Stephen trained harder in that art of MMA. So no , Belal will lose 30-27 or get finished.

Also to the grappling point I’m just saying it takes a very good grappler to hold down wonderboy/neutralize his striking. Even then, you have to get past his striking to get close to him which I just don’t see belal doing. The Matt brown one you could probably chalk up to wonderboy being young (as I believe that was one of his first ufc fights) but Tyron and Gilbert are both outstanding in wrestling and grappling
