Viera is a better Jujitsuka than Sharts will ever be. Yes, Gerald has a crazy sub record, but if you were to put them in a BJJ match sharts would get tapped. Viera is a 4 time world BJJ champ. Gerald is overall better at MMA. There is no shame in getting subbed by Viera.

Gerald should be the favourite. But here's the thing; his striking and striking defence is garbage. Absolutely woeful. His TDA is 40%. His striking accuracy is 44% and het gets hit at 3.75 PM. Stolzfus does hit hard and lands at decent clip. He''s better than his UFC record indicates and has been given a pretty brutal run thus far.

If the fight stays on the feet I can see sharts either getting KO'ed or dropping 2 rounds and getting decced. I trust his cardio but not Stolzfus'. All depends on the grappling. Stolzfus will have the bigger power lands. Gerald couldn't bust a g****. Hasn't KO'ed anyone since spicely who was as much of a bum then as he is now. I wouldn't bet on Gerald here.

Geralds striking has gotten a lot better tho and stolzfus does have better striking, but that doesn’t mean he’s good. And yeah viera is a beast on the mat but stiltzfus had that in the bag and got subbed. He already showed he’s not the highest level bjj player as daukaus dominated him on the ground. Gerald should probably man handle him here

Not that daukaus is bad but I would rate geralds bjj over daukaus’s. At least in terms of a sub threat, if he sees an opportunity he will get the submission

I wouldn't bet on that, though. Stolzfus is a big boy. Not easy to take down for a wrestler of Sharts' standard. As I say, Sharts should be the favourite. But he is really isn't good unless the fight gets into his wheelhouse. Viera is a better fighter than Sharts. His jab is unreal and he carries big power, huge sub threat.  BJJ only matters if it can get to the ground. I won't be risking money on Gerald to be able to do that.

Meerschaert has enough power to hang with Dustin on the feet, and it isn't like Stoltzfus has shown a whole lot to be honest. I'd be very surprised if Gerald's streak comes to a close here since Dustin is a very winnable fight.

Really? Viera is good but his so beatable because of his gas tank. His striking really isn’t that good if I’m being honest. Also meerschaert doesn’t need to get it to the ground for a sub, he just needs stoltzfus to make a mistake; which is very likely. Also meerschaert had a very good last performance against an absolute dog in muradov. Had some good moments on the feet and then got the finish. Also muradov has a very legit tdd and meerschaert was able to get him down 3 times.

You're right lmao 38. Whatever age wonderboy is, it's not the age you start making improvements.

I'm not going to put myself on another island just yet, but I will say stolzfus is going underappreciated. I'm not going to commit till I research.

I'll probably still pick Meerschaert due to superior cardio, experience, and the sub threat. But there's no way I'd ever bet on it. Agree with DC predictions in that Dustin is being unduly written off. Don't agree with the snake that Sharts has power to hang with him on the feet, that's not a tenable view given that he's literally been KO'ed in 2 of his last 4 fights, has one KO in UFC against Spicely who again,is a Bum, and has 6 KO's total from 44 fights (21% KO rate). He doesn't have power. That much is simply objectively true.

If he does win it will be by sub or dec.

@Mayo he's not a world beater I'll grant you that but neither is Sharts. Dude has never beaten anyone I rate as a legit talent.

oh yeah that is clearly true, hes a striker not a grappler. Thats fair to say hes not a world beater but I would say hes more of a gatekeeper to see if prospects can hang with top 15 guys. I think that muradov win was huge but its fair to say muradov isn't an elite talent. look at the guys meerschart is losing to as well; all are far above stotzfus's level imo.

I don't judge him by the Hernandez fight. That was a GSP vs Serra moment.

It’s not that he’s gonna gas if the fight leaves the first round but viera can’t keep his furious grappling pace for a long time. He didn’t gas against stoltzfus because he didn’t even grapple until the third. Viera is a great fighter tho

@Mayo Sharts got the **** drubbed out of him in R1 by Muradov. Literally pulled guard twice after getting rocked, and kicked him in the balls and eye poked him in that round also. Fight was stopped twice R1. He came back and got the sub on a gassed Muradov of a very weak back take due to really poor defensive grappling play. I wouldn't call that a legit TD. He got stuffed on his first attempt.

This fight depends on Dustin's cardio and TDD the way I see it. If he's better than Muradov in those capacities, he will win.

I didn’t think he looked terrible but that’s my opinion. I also haven’t rewatched that fight so I’m probably remembering it wrong. Idk he should be able to get the fight where he wants pretty easily

Half of the fights I'm usually too drunk the night of to really absorb what happened. I always gotta go back and rewatch (mildly) sober.

Mercent is another fighter, I like  as an underdog, Or I think about fading them as favorites, I think he pretty **** at most thing in MMA, but has good skill for what he good at, I put a 5-ver on Merchant to beat Muradov at +500 for that reason, I thought they was a good chance, he somehow beat Muradov, But in this fight, He's -300, He could lose it for reason also, It not like he got slept in under a minute in 2 out of his last 4
