Tony Ferguson   vs.   Beneil Dariush

I'm struggling to understand exactly how Tony Ferguson is the dog here. Why? Because he got mollywhopped by Gaethje in a bad stylistic matchup and dropped another fight to Charles who's been on an absolute tear? Dariush isn't on the same level as either of those guys. It must have escaped the bookies' attention that he gets lit up every fight and is losing until he isn't half the time. If Tony turns up even moderately better than he did his last fight this will be a blowout. I very, very much doubt Dariush is winning by sub if Charles couldn't, or KO. He's a very low-volume basic striker and it's going to be tough for him to win by decision.

Not sure why I shouldn't see Tony as free money here basically.

Oliveira vs. Chandler
Charles Oliveira, TKO, R4
Charles would be stupid not to use his frame to his advantage and get the fight to the ground early. I think he does that, and stuns a slow Chandler late and gets the ground-and-pound TKO.

Edwards vs. Diaz
Leon Edwards, TKO, R3
Leon has the best timing on his elbows in the whole of the UFC. He'll rip Nate's right eyebrow off and get a doctor stoppage.

Ferguson vs. Dariush
Tony Ferguson, DEC
Not so confident in Dariush after seeing him get tagged up by Holtzman; even if Tony is on the decline, he's still levels ahead of Dariush imo.

Hermansson vs. Shahbazyan
Jack Hermansson, TKO, R3
lol.

Edwards vs. Diaz
Leon Edwards, TKO, R3
in my opinion Diaz has a legit path to victory in this fight if he can be better in the clinch and get the fight to the ground, because I think Nate can completely dominate on the ground in this fight. But this will be more or less the same thing that happened with Masvidal on the feet, either there is another doctor stoppage or Nate gets finished bad. I hope Joe Rogan commentates just so we can hear how "good" the Diaz brother's boxing is for MMA as he's getting his face pieced the **** up

I am not really a Diaz bro fan big bro was ok but lil nate is a lightweight he will lose every exchange, every clinch and yeah probably bleed a lot.
I believe people mistake  Nick and nate and forget he has never beaten a real ranked welterweight this is a gimme fight for leon.
That being said spam punching and blanket wrestling nate will make a sloppy mess of first round.
I would love to see Leon get a finish but aside from doc stop don't see it unless permafried has lost his chin.

Oliveira vs. Chandler
Michael Chandler, SUB, R4
In my opinion this fight has chances to become fight of the year, Oliveira's Master class BJJ, Chandler's explosivity.. I really want to see this fight go to the distance so we can see who the true champion is. In my opinion Charles by SUB in late rounds. I felt Chandler could beat Hooker, but he still did not show us his abilities against the best contenders, so I guess we are about to find out.

Edwards vs. Diaz
Leon Edwards, DEC
Diaz is 36, 4 fights in 5 years, 2 lossed in those 4. Bad matchup for Diaz' comeback. No more words needed

Ferguson vs. Dariush
Tony Ferguson, DEC
I hope Tony still got it, 37 is a lot for Lightweight tho, lets go.

@adrndc11 it certainly plays a huge part in the most consequential story of the year. Lightweight has become the sport's glamor division. Jan was able to sneak up on the LHW belt with little fanfare before grabbing the spotlight by outpointing Izzy. With Dustin and Conor opting for the money fight instead of the title, both of these guys have been able to seize a measure of stardom by contesting the belt. Should be a hell of a fight, and the winner's first defense should be a hell of an event.

If it weren't for the damn pandemic, it would be about the best time ever to be a fan.

@stuthehistoryguy you're right, can't wait to see how it plays out after this fight. I mean TOP 6, even TOP10 is very stacked. You see these guys compete, and even then you hear about guys like Fiziev, Kutateladze, Gamrot, Makhachev, Tsarkuyan, Nasrat and I probably missed some names, but the point is - you see big names compete, and you have even more coming in 2022&2023.

It's basically like waiting for gladiators to see who the biggest beast is, WWE Royal Rumble type of **** hahah

Ok maybe I truly am losing my mind, Nate is fighting Leon Edwards? Whut?!

I don't think he has a chance in a 3 rounder, but 5, I wonder... probably not, but I'd love to see him win.

Also, Charles is good but this is still one of the weirdest TKO's I've ever seen.

I'll admit I thought he quit when I saw this, but he does hit him right in the temple.
