Jordan Wrights first 8 opponents combined record is 1-38 lol I will bet against this MF every time out. All we learned is that Pickett is a can.

I think it's fair to say edson barboza is one of the best, if not the best at leg kicks in the history of the sport?

Someone shut me up if you disagree

Still can't believe I had pickett in a parlay, like literally the worst performance I've seen from someone in ******* ages

Not even mad that I got Charles / Oliveira wrong. I predicted Charles wouldn't recover if hurt, well holy **** he was knocked out and the man came back to life. Chandler was that close, and then it was ripped away from him in the second round.

Congrats to a legend, in Oliveira, and Chandler for putting it on the line. That was a championship fight, and the real fight of the night.

Was a really solid PPV.

Oliveira/Chandler was wild and felt like a big deal. It said a lot about Charles Oliveira and his evolution. He has an undeserved rep for being kind of 'fragile' in past fights, and Chandler is one of the hardest hitters there's ever been at 155. So for Chandler to put it on Charles like he did in R1, and for Charles to survive said a lot. And I'll give Chandler his props a well. Not a lot of people are surviving once Do Bronx has their back for a few seconds let alone for a couple minutes. It was impressive in it's own right.

Charles Oliveira spent a lot of the first round backing up on the feet. Seemed to me like he was kind of intimidated by Chandler's power. So for him to come out in R2, take the center of the octagon, and land that left hook? That **** was crazy. He fought like someone who'd spent a decade in the UFC going through ups and downs and is finally ready to hold some gold. It was awesome, and I'm happy for him.

Tony Ferguson is shot. No arguments against it imo. Justin Gaethje took that man's soul and he's never gonna be the same again. Genuinely would not be surprised if he never won again unless the UFC throws a major softball at him. Dariush fought a perfect fight and I'm glad to see him in the mix. He's better than he gets credit for. High-level wrestler, really solid BJJ, pretty sharp on the feet, and a fantastic chin. He could be in that Top 3-4 real soon.

I cannot get excited for Bontorin or Chookagian fights lmao. It especially hurt to see Chookagian beat someone I really enjoy in Vivi Araujo. Brutal.

Loved everything about Barboza/Burgos. Two savages. The kicks of Barboza, the punches of Burgos. Ffs. Burgos was leaning heavy on the body punches and they were brutal. Was shocked to see Edson just eat a lot of them. Those were the types of punches that gave him massive fits like 3-5 years ago. Equally impressed that Burgos was able to take all those leg and body kicks of Edson's. Some of them were just disgusting. Finish was a bit scary, but Burgos appears to be fine. So that's great news. Absolutely deserved FOTN.

Andre Muniz is a bad ************. This dude said pre-fight he was a better grappler than Jacare, got laughed at for it, had commentary calling bs during the fight, only to snap Jacare's arm just moments later. That's wild.

Wright looked good, and Pickett is a fine measuring stick, but I just can't take Jordan Wright seriously. That dude has been fed so many softer-than-soft balls it is ridiculous. Dude's first 7 or 8 opponents had a combined record of 1-38 or some ****. Pathetic, honestly. Undeniably talented, but need to see more from him. Regardless, the Pickett finish was wild.

Chandler looked good in that first round aside from jumping the gilly. I’m hoping they match him with Gaethje next so he can have his soul taken by the Gaethje curse.

When you sign a contract to fight Justin Gaethje and he steals your soul by beating the **** out of you.

Tony Ferguson
Donald Cerrone
Michael Johnson
James Vick

They've all been there. To his credit, Edson Barboza was able to learn from his defeat and thrive - albeit down a weight class.

If Jacare is as smart as I believe him to be, he'll hang up the gloves. The humerus doesn't heal easily, especially at his age.

Also, is the left hook becoming the most powerful tool in MMA? We've seen multiple championships decided by it in the last two years.

Because of how people follow past the feet with power shots lead hooks will always be one of the biggest shots in boxing or MMA. If you lean into your power in a closed stance you lose that periphery and can get clipped bad. Watch the main event in slow-no, Chandler bombs Oliviera’s body in close, but gets caught bringing his hand back to his face and he completely loses sight of the low starting hook because his own return was blocking it.
