My Summary

Based mostly on wins and not on performance or should haves (i.e. controversial decisions). Donald Cerrone returned to the lightweight division in January 2019.

After five rounds, he lost a unanimous decision. dos Anjos returned in the headliner at the TUF 28 Finale against Kamaru Usman. dos Anjos lost the one-sided fight by unanimous decision. He faced Kevin Lee at UFC on ESPN+ 9. He submitted Lee with an arm-triangle choke in the fourth round. dos Anjos will headline UFC on ESPN 4 against Leon Edwards.

After a rough start, Askren won the fight by technical submission due to a bulldog choke, though the stoppage wasn't without controversy. Askren faced Jorge Masvidal at UFC 239. Askren suffered his first professional MMA lost by knockout just five seconds into the first round.

    Lawler returned at UFC 214 against Donald Cerrone. He won the fight by unanimous decision. Lawler headlined UFC on FOX 26 against Rafael dos Anjos. After five rounds he lost a unanimous decision. Lawler welcomed Ben Askren to the UFC at UFC 235. He lost the fight via a controversial stoppage due to a bulldog choke. Lawler was set to rematch Tyron Woodley at UFC on ESPN 4, however, Woodley withdrew due to injury. Lawler will instead face Colby Covington at UFC on ESPN 5.

    The UFC Interim Welterweight champion. Covington took the title when he defeated Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225 by unanimous decision. He was later stripped of the title. Due to a year of inactivity, Covington fell down 4 rankings (June 2019, formerly ranked 3). Covington will return at UFC on ESPN 5 against Robbie Lawler.

Till missed weight and the bout was contested at a catchweight of 174lbs. Thompson lost a unanimous decision after five rounds, however, he doesn't move down the rankings due to Till missing weight. Thompson headlined UFC on ESPN+ 6 against Anthony Pettis. He suffered the first stoppage loss of his career by second round knockout.

Lima fought Michael Page at Bellator 221 and knocked him out in the second round.
