What I saw of Farid he looked like a potential future title challenger, remember that he's only 25. But he hasn't fought the competition to know how it holds up. There's a lot of hurdles to clear still but really I can't see many things to criticize in his game. Great footwork, fantastic balance, switches stances pretty seemlessly, big variety of techniques in hands and feet. Fast but also has explosive power, his wrestling entries looks great and on the ground he looks at least fine.
Cardio seems great and he's seemingly very calm and composed mentally.

Sure you can always nitpick and say his guard can drop a bit when he back away from opponents punches and he turns his body to avoid shots that could leave him open to a faster opponent or someone who throws long combinations.
But a ton of fighters rely on their speed and footwork rather than a high guard for defenses. That will hurt you at some point as you age if you don't adapt to fighting younger and faster opponents but as long as it works it works.

Well it's easy to style on lesser opposition so of course the test is does he look the same in the UFC? But I can see why his betting line is ground into the floor.

Nickal line is absurd.  Plenty of elite wrestlers equal to or better than him have failed inside the cage.  Pickett isn't good but he's an experienced fighter with wins at this level.

Gane is going to shock the world on Saturday night.  I predict he will finish Jones.  The question is how Jones will react if he does get finished for the first time ever?  What will happen to him that night in Vegas is the real question...

You make some really good points for both men, it is really one of those fights where it can go either way. I think Jones is really going to have to mix in takedowns to win this fight. I don’t see anyone beating Gane in a pure striking match at this current moment. It seems every time jones has a long layoff he doesn’t perform to his standard. Im sure the question is there for everyone, but how does Jon jones perform after 3 year layoff and moving up to a new division?. Another question I ask myself is do we really see Jon jones losing? I have to agree I see this fight going slow and most likely going to the cards. I think the smarter play for this fight is fight ends either round 4,5 or Dec. but Gane at plus odds looks really intriguing. Thanks for the 2nd opinion appreciate it :)

Why does everyone think Gane is going to be faster than Jones? I think it will be the other way round. And he has a reach advance too. I think he could piece up Gane just like Gane does to others.

Also it doesn't take much to topple a heavyweight. And Jones will get him down 100%. Question is if Gane can get up. If not it's going to be a long night for him

Gane is very fast and has some of the best footwork in all of ufc, saying Jones will be faster is just assuming. We have never seen Jones fight at heavyweight, the extra weight could affect him and it could not. On top of that he also coming back from 3 year layoff, so you never know what his timing and speed will look like. In Jones last fight he seemed to really struggled with Reyes athleticism and size. Jones even struggled to mix in takedowns that whole fight. Now he versing Gane who has better range management/ footwork and is more athletic, all things Jones has struggled with. Gane did get taken down from Ngannou, and showed to struggle when he was on bottom. Ngannou has brute freak strength and that’s why I believe he was so successful. Gane has shown really good ability to get up from his back and I don’t think Jones has the strength to hold gane down if he gets takedowns. I’m really curious how Jon adapts to Ganes leg kicks. Either way it’s an awesome fight, that can go so many different ways, no one is changing my mind this week

A unit is 100 btw Rah.

If it goes to decision I'm not confident the judges will not **** it up and let Jones win over Gane even if Gane had a better showing.

The real question is can either man reasonably get a stoppage ITD. I don't see Jones cracking Gane and getting a ko. Maybe a ground and pound tko? Also, I don't see a heavyweight Jones subbing gane.

For Gane, he could wear Jones down and in later rounds pile on too much accumulative damage and get a ko/tko.

Gane by late stoppage r3/4 or Jones ko. But more likely it goes to decision which I'm staying away from a dec punt

Just have this feeling Jones is going to win. But I'm not going to bet on him, too much unknown after 3 years layoff.

But saying Gane will be faster is also just assuming. Everythin  is relative. Sure he looks faster (though didn't look too much faster than Tuivasa) than other heavy weights who have fought at HW their whole career. But against a LHW? Even a bulked up LHW and the best to ever do it?

I think Jones has a very good chance of being faster.
