on the real I just looked at Greg Velasco and he fights straight cans. Plus that win was a split decision. By no means am I saying Mayes is the go to in this match up. I just think that Abdelwahab is almost a shot in the dark pick because anyone he's fought is straight dookie butt

I think the UFC tailor made this fight for Blood Diamond tbh, Because he could be a star, Not confident at all because Blood Diamond only had 4 MMA fights

yes i'm trusting the guy with the experience edge. reach edge. height edge. striking edge. id assume cardio edge. also has fought in front of crowds before. and had a full camp.
vs trusting a guy with bad cardio, on a weeks notice, 3-0 in mma vs literal cans, underwelming tape. good power, bad technique, "good wrestling". questionable defense. and making his debut.
Going from Matthew Strickland (who's built like a bean bag chair) to Mayes in 2 months is an insane step up in competition. Really don't think Hamdy's ready for UFC yet.
just struggling to see a path to victory for hamdy here unless he catches him with a big power shot in the first rd or pulls some god tier cardio out of his ass on a weeks notice and controls him for 15 mins on the ground.
