I'd thought Poatan would face someone like shahbazyan to get him into the top 15, think this is 1 fight too soon for top 10. But Dana seems eager to get the potential Poatan vs Izzy fight.

Uriah Hall is a very good striker in MMA, he has KO'd some of the biggest names in the sport, and has one of the greatest KOs in UFC history.

Hermansson has been in the UFC, fighting the best strikers in his division for years.

Pereira, because of his kickboxing resume, name recognition, and his age, needs to be fast tracked.

I saw it this morning, I was going to come on here an post the wrestling take as soon as i heard this fight announced. strickland fights smart over everything. he talks wreckless but fights completely in control. he will do what ever he has to do to win this fight. definitely forecasting some wrestling to secure a boring decision.

For all the stupid psyco **** Strickland spouts he has a really safe style. Jab, jab, jab, jab you get the idea. Maybe he'll treat fans to right hand once every round. Clearly isn't fighting to the death, despite his podcast declarations. Gonna try to wrestle especially with the reach disadvantage.

Strickland v Pereira

Pereira by KO, probably.

I'm hoping we get to see Pereira get smashed by Adesanya and prove the haters wrong. The dude lost their first fight imo, and would have gotten finished in their 2nd fight, had the ref not given Pereira a standing 8 count.

Adesanya will just pick him apart from distance. His safety first championship style should see that he doesn't get reckless after hurting Pereira this time. The only legit threats to Adesanya's MW reign are:
1/ Age
2/ Chimaev (if he proves he can go the distance)
3 Usman

Getting the number 4 guy, after a mediocre performance against an unranked striker is so short sighted. At least give him a top 10 grappler. If Pereira wins the title, then gets insta-subbed by Vettori or Brunson. That just makes the UFC look bad.

Just cuz he did it once doesn’t make an easy task. There’s a reason he was the only person to have done that. He has crazy power but it’s not like he can just go out there and flatline everybody

Chimaev has beat John Phillips, Rhys McKee, Gerald Meerschaert, and Jingliang Li and this dude already has him as the 2nd biggest threat to Israel's MW reign. Dana and the UFC put him on a pretty high pedestal to begin with, but some of you guys have launched this ************ to Mars. At this point I honestly don't even know if he's capable of meeting the expectations set for him by the fans and the promoter.

also I still think Whittaker can beat Izzy, and someone like Vettori can too. They're just a step behind due to the physical attributes they have to go up against, I think one of them will eventually figure him out. ******* Gastelum almost came close, come on this guy isn't some godlike fighter....

Chimaev and pereira are different tho. Ufc wants pereira to fight izzy so they can promote a big fight, they’re pushing Chimaev because he has ran through people like it’s nothing. Totally different scenarios
