Marvin Vettori, SUB, R2
Holland's one-sided promotion during the event gave me an idea of what was going to happen (too bad it was too late to change my pick). Holland just spent the time laughing and talking during the fight (acting like a clown) while Brunson did not fall into provocations and work to obtain the victory, Holland tried to put a '' show '' and the only thing he really did was be more 15 minutes with your back on the mat. Vettori is no joke, seeing his record regardless of the results the man has faced real opposition and no last minute-replace fighters. When Holland was out of the vs. Hermansson, Vettori took the short notice and despite not training for 25 minutes the Italian gave a great performance. Brunson is a fighter who uses takedowns for G&P or control, Vettori is very different in that respect I have no doubt that Vettori shocked Holland and will return him to fight vs. Unranked fighters or new comers.

Marvin Vettori, DEC
You have to hand it to Kevin Holland, the doesn't turn down fights, and taking on Vettori on less than 2 weeks notice is the definition of a tough fight. Marvin is a very well rounded mixed martial artist. He isnt weak anywhere. His striking defense is 66% which is about as good as it gets for a middleweight. Vettori controls his opponents twice as much time as they control him in the cage (18% to 9%) and that could be a problem for someone like Holland who has spent 34% of his UFC cage time being controlled and because he has TD defense below 50% it's easy to see Vettori getting this fight to the ground if he doesnt like the way it's going on the feet. Holland does boast a 7 inch reach advantage here so if he can keep it on the feet this should be a hotly contested striking match and Holland would have a much better chance to win. I'm going with Vettori by decision here, I see too many paths to victory for him. Neither one of these guys have ever been knocked out or knocked down in the UFC so unless Marvin gets a sub I see this fight going the distance.

Arnold Allen, DEC
Allen (7-0 UFC) vs Yusuff (5-0 UFC). Two young prospects with very bright futures here. Both of these dudes have some impressive names on their respective resumes. Yusuff has defeated the likes of Andre Fili, Gabriel Bentitez and Mike Davis while Allen has beaten some crafty veterans like Gilbert Melendez, Nik Lentz and Makwan Amirkhani. The line is close, as it should be. Arnold Allen has a very well rounded skillset that I think will make the difference here. I'm picking Allen by decision here as I think his striking defense and solid TD game will make the difference on the scorecards. Someones UFC 0 has got to go. This should be a very entertaining fight.

Julian Marquez, DEC
This is going to be a striing match for as long as it lasts. How do I know that? Let's look at the numbers. In Sam Alvey's almost 12,000 seconds he has spent in the UFC cage, he has accumulated 1 takedown. One! 200 minutes! 20 fights! Only one takedown. Sam prefers to strike, specifically counterstrike and he has great TD defense so he has no problem keeping a fight standing even when he's fighting a grappler. Marquez is not a grappler (0-5 on TD attempts in the UFC) so it's safe to say we can look at the striking numbers to see who wins this fight. Sam Alvey absorbs slightly more than he lands and he has a 1.1% KD to SS landed ratio while Marzuez ratio is around .5. Alvey is a southpaw, which complicates things and he drags his opponents into staring contests sometimes. I see this fight going to decision as both guys are extremely tough. I'll give the nod to Marquez with very little confidence. No way I'd bet him at -160 though. In my opinion the value is on the dog but being 0-4-1 in his last 5 makes him (Alvey) hard to trust.

Nina Nunes, DEC
If this fight goes to the ground its advantage Dern, if it stays standing, advantage Nunes. Dern's ability to get takedowns is absolutely turrible (1-18 in the UFC) and Nunes has a 77% TD defense against ladies like Tatiana Suarez, Claudia Gadelha and Randa Markos so I feel safe predicting a Nunes win by decision as her superior striking game should make the difference.
