Stand Tall Mate

Predictions: 0 of 0 Winners, 0 Perfect, 0 Points   |   Tied for 4219th

Hold your head up and **** all the doubters. Dustin Poirier has got a good chance at taking Mc Nugget out. Here are a few reasons I reckon ' the Diamond ' has got an edge.
1  He has been thru the fight island experience
2. Conor loves the crowd and there ain't one
3. Conor put the **** on the Muslims during the Khabib fight and they will be going out of there way to treat him
like a king to put him off his game and **** with his head ( which will work)
4  Dustin is just as good of a boxer but better grappler and his ground game is better to, in my opinion.

My prediction  Poirier by submission rnd 3 hopefully by kneck crank and he twists Mc ****head into being a bit more humble and respectful when it comes to other fighters religion, race  and family.

Your right mate it's at 155. I wish it was 170 and Conor won and got an instant title shot against Usman so the Nigerian Nightmare could seriously Mc **** him up

Dan the hangman Hooker

Predictions: 0 of 0 Winners, 0 Perfect, 0 Points   |   Tied for 4219th

Yer, my countryman Dan is gunna put on a show as per usual. Good intro to the big show for Chandler and I hope he enjoyed the plane flight and the food cause it could be an early night. I just been in Auckland NZ on holiday and got a chance to visit CKB and see the hangman training for about 4 mins. Huge heart and a true ANZAC Warrior. A loss to Poirier but went the distance, loss to Barbossa but got the **** kicked out of him but won the fans with his huge heart an no quit ( but **** he must have been sore).
My prediction  Hooker by KO from a knee to the head in rnd 2

Underratted Conor grappling skills and his tdd.

Predictions: 7 of 11 Winners, 5 Perfect, 500 Points   |   Tied for 354th

I want to say something that most of you forgotten.
Conor have 70% tdd and very good skills in bjj.
Now I want show some details form Conor fights:
Khabib takedown Conor only 3 times of 7 attempts.
In first fight with Diaz , Nate has one takedown
In second fight only one takedown of 7 attempts.
Summarizing:
I dont think that Poirier will have any chance to get Conor down.
I also want to say that he has only 35% TD accuracy.
In stand-up battle Conor gonna kill him.
I would also like to debunk the myth about Conor's weak condition.
Of course in first fight wiht Nate he had problems with cardio because he want to kill Nate in first round.
In second fight with Nate the cardio was quite good.
In second round with Alvarez he was fresh.
He fought 10rd in boxing fight with Floyd, he lose but he look very good.
Finally fight with Khabib.
On the beginning of fight he looked good, good tdd, Conor won 3 round.
He lost in 4rd when Khabib totally maul him.
In my opinion this fight is a very good stylistic matchup fpr McGregor.

“In second fight with Nate the cardio was quite good.”

Do you not remember him literally running away from Nate because he was so tired? I’m expecting his cardio to be even worse this time due to all of the muscle that he has put on. He looked huge for the the Cowboy fight (granted that was at 170).

If you looked on Conor social media you can see that now he is in a perfect shape.
He look very motivated to win wint Dustin and to reclaim the belt.
Some time ago I have read the article about the diet that helped Conor go down from 170 to 155.
I think that he made weigh pretty easy.

Another fact: Poirier in every fight absorbing too much punches on his face. For example last fight with Hooker. Conor will need only one clear shot to make sleep Dustin.

I will be picking Poirier cause I can’t stand Conor’s soft mentality and ***** ********. But stylistically Conor is probably the worst fight for Poirier. As a south paw power striker with heavy looping shots he can penetrate Dustins traditional boxing shell defense he uses because of the small gloves in MMA. It’s just a bad matchup, but I’ll be so happy if Poirier chokes Conor out or TKOs him.

I would love to see Poirier win, but after watching him fight Holloway, Justin, and Hooker, his defense is just not there. He has been in fire fights with all these men while Conor heals up, I dislike Conor but the man can strike.

Now, Conor has an iron chin. He can take a punch and bounce back much better in my opinion. Dustin leaves his chin up just a bit, and he is mostly offensive. Conor has the better striking, KO power, and as said this is just one of those match ups where Dustin doesn't have many options but to stand with him.

Conor has underrated takedown defense, and Dustin isn't gonna try and take it to the ground. It's not in his gameplan, he's gonna stand and Conor will land and repeat of the first fight. It might not happen in the first, but nothing in my gut is telling me Poirier could pull it off. I hope I'm wrong.

I hate when people try to use the whole "Conor stuffed 4 of Khabibs 7 takedowns" argument.  it doesn't matter how many of khabibs takedowns you stuff if in the end he still gets you down. Khabib is a chain wrestler with never-ending cardio

I hate when people say Conor grappling is terrible, because it not, It he’s cardio that the problem, not his Jiu-jitsu skill. Conor the only fighter I seen who shut down Khabib top control smash for a extended period of time. The new wrestling guru Justin Gaeche got tap in 60 secound when Khabib wanted to stop ******* around. Conor cardio the Issue because 1’st round Conor is the best fighter in the UFC at the moment, u have to survive those rounds, to finish the weaker 3rd round Conor

Tap machine dont know how to defend a choke
The only reason he have not more then 4 submission lost in 26 fight is because he generally knock people out before it goes to the ground.

Damien you need to re-watch that fight he didn't shut any game down, all he did was survive. Khabib was a savage in that fight, and I'll give it to Conor for surviving but once his back got taken, well..

And it's crazy we have to choose the opponent who survived the best until the end against Khabib. Nobody touched him, Michael Johnson did land but it wasn't drastic. Barboza survived until the end, and took a brutal beating.

When the ref asked Barboza if he wanted to continue (I forget the round, just before it started) and he smiled and shook his head, motioning 'yes'.

-edit-

In the end, surprisingly, I believe Ragin' Al Iaquinta did the best against Khabib. If you wanna go back in time, Gleison Tibau did the best because a lot of people believed he won that fight. I'm not gonna get into that though.

The fact how many takedown attempts Conor defend show how good his tdd is.
And that 70% show a lot of.
Dustin isn't such a good wrestler as Khabib is, and I think that is a good argument ;)
