Tied for 474th
The fighters are weighed in and one of the main eventers was off the mark. Romero missed weight by 2.7 lbs, meaning he cannot win the Interim title with a victory. Rockhold still can, and the fight is still a go.
Prelims kick off on UFC Fight Pass at 630pm ET before switching to FS1 at 8pm.
The PPV main card kicks off at 10pm.
Enjoy!

That's a fair revision though. I kinda thought Rockhold might pull it off when Romero did his walkout, looked a bit sketchy/uncertain.
MW division continues to be a strange, strange place. What does this mean now--that Romero can't get the rematch because he failed weight?

You’re not wrong, the MW division is kinda a head ****.
I think they give the rematch to Romero, despite the cut.
They can have a HL knock win over Luke, giving some marketability and the excuse of not having a full camp.
Jacare is the only other guy I can see. He did take The Reaper’s back momentarily in the first.
I think they give it to Romero though.

Middleweight in a weird position now. Seems like Romero is the only real candidate for a title shot but he missed weight and just lost to Whittaker.

You know, I have no expectations of it happening....but I would watch the **** out of Costa vs Romero. Goddamn, what a fight. Granted, he's # 14 and there's nothing in it for Yoel..but he's one destruction of Hall away from being top ten, which is what I expect to happen.

I’d like Romero to rematch Knuckles (both their health pending)
Santos with win over Branch to fight Rockhold.
If Branch wins fights Kelvin, Rockhold awaits 205 fight or a Jacare/Weidman winner.
Jacare and Weidman really should fight.
Costa beats Hall to fight Brunson, Kelvin or Weidman/Jacare winner.
Who knows where health, win/lose streaked and timelines will take us.

Santos vs Rockhold? God damn you guys want Rockhold to die, lol. I don't know what to think about Rockhold anymore, he looked amazing in Strikeforce and when he came into the UFC but has looked like dog**** in his past three fights. Even in his title win against Weidman he didn't look that good. I called it in the other Romero vs Rockhold thread that Rockhold would throw that sloppy right hook too often and Romero would eventually time it.
All in all a great fight card, not a lot of star power but definitely great fights, those Aussies bring it. Fair few prospects coming through aswell, which the UFC is in need of. Sad to see Hunt lose but that's the game i guess.
That Vokanovski dude is going to be a serious problem at 145 i think, absolute cannonball of a man.

@Savate, I’m no Luke fan but no, I don’t want him to die. Youre comparing the levels of competition Santos has face to Luke. That’s kinda funny.. Luke would open as a huge favorite. Both have strengths to expose the others weaknesses. One is on way out, the other coming up.....the fight makes perfect sense actually ;)

I'm not saying that i don't want to see Santos launch him into orbit but considering he just got KTFO again i don't think he wants any part of Santos. He said this week that he was going to 205 anyway.
Hard to imagine him as a contender in either division really at this point. 205ers are old and it's a shallow division but they hit hard as ****. I could even see old Shogun giving him a run for his money or shutting his lights out.
Funny that Henri Hooft knew Luke was in trouble already 2 minutes into the fight as he kept screaming at him to keep his hands up from then on.

Funny how when he's hurt he just sits against the cage and watches his opponent put him to sleep with the killshot.

Ditto Zuli.
Not so much Jumeau, but Mathews put on a stellar performance. That's how he needs to fight. He has hit his stride, finally.
