Predictions: 8 of 10 Winners, 0 Perfect, 430 Points   |   Tied for 182nd

The UFC comes to visit New Zealand for the first time. It will be a proud night for James Te Huna who headlines the card in front of his fellow Kiwis against a very well rounded veteran of MMA in Nate Marquardt.

Both fighters will be desperate to snap their losing streaks, Te Huna dropping down from LHW to 185lbs for the first time and Nate stepping back up to the MW division.

Prelims and Main Card will be on the UFC Fight Pass.

I'll be taking over resulting entering duties for this one due to Skelli being unavailable. Good luck with your picks!

Nice (and very much needed) win for Nate.

Woke up in time to catch the top 3 fights live so here's my thoughts in the order I watched:

Still think Oliveira/Hioki was FOTN and Do Bronx's finish deserves at least SOTY discussion. Quality of opposition and all.

Rosholt/Soa wasn't quite as boring as I assumed. That's the best I can say about it.

Nice performance from Marquardt but overshadowed by Te Huna's walkout. Only real question is which sucked more life out of the event: the co-main or Marquardt's post-fight interview?

Rhodes finally showed some urgency in the 3rd. Hope he gets another shot but wouldn't want to bet on it.

I thought OC (only cuz it's shorter, seriously, if you can't come up with a good nickname just don't have one) won the fight but at least both guys tried.

Hooker/Entwistle stopped too soon but oh well.

Now that's how you should fight when you obviously lose the 1st.

Yup.

Sangcha-An should've won imo but it was a good fight.

Kind of knew who was going to win because I had seen a comment along the lines of "great debut by Matthews" so I was a little underwhelmed since Johnson was so obviously a can crusher but consdering he's a 19 yr old making his debut I'm probably holding him to too high a standard. Btw that 1st rd is a perfect example of a rd that should unanimously be a 10-8.

All in all, like usual when a card appears that weak, it exceeded my expectations.

There were a lot of people talking **** about Nate on other sites and so to see him go out and get that 1st round finish was just awesome. Nate at middleweight has always and still is a beast at middleweight.

Te Huna had a clear strength advantage, but Marquardt was just too technical.

Great one round fight.

Bummed for Rhodes, he's likely out of the UFC.  I thought he would be better after sharing camp w/Glenn after Glenn looked so good at WSOF.

Olivera/Hioki was a fun fight.  I can't believe Olivera tapped him.

Fun stuff.

Entertaining card overall with the exception of Soa vs Rosholt. Neither of these guys have really impressed me and I continue to be unimpressed by either. Favorite fight od the night was Olivera vs Hioki. They had great back and forth action in their grappling. My next favorite fight probably goes to the main event. Marquardt lookes good though his post fight speach was annoying but good finish none the less.
