They are not much further down on my list - check the rankings page and make your own too...
But I felt that what his fight agianst Bonner did on TUF 1 Finale for the sport of MMA made him a bit higher on my Greatest list. Otherwise, all of the above have only won the LH title and lost it in their first defense.

But Anderson is just oh-so-much better at striking than everyone.

GSP is more well rounded due to his wrestling, but pure skill? A silva has way more pure skill in my opinion.
But then again being well rounded doesnt make you a champion, being great does, and Anderson is the greatest.

"Being well rounded doesn't make you a champion, being great does"
Where is the logic in that?
"I would agree with you, but then we would both be wrong."

While Anderson Silva is my favorite fighter, and I do believe him to be the best fighter in MMA currently, I'm actually not going to choose him for this list. O.o
For my #1 UFC fighter, I'ma go a different route. A route that is chock full of fights that have you on your feet, we're mostly competitive, and were relevant at the time. With Silva, while his fights are always relevant with him being champion, they don't always have you on your feet. They do however have you on the edge of your seat, waiting for that magical "Spider" moment that could happen at any second.
For me, I'm thinking along the lines of 3 fighters that were early faces of the UFC around the TUF beginnings. Randy Couture, Matt Hughes, and BJ Penn. I'm reluctant to add Chuck Liddell to my list, but, this is MY list, and I'm not a big fan of The Iceman.
Just for the sake of trying to keep this from "tl;dr", I'ma get to my point. BJ Penn get's my personal vote. There was never a boring fight with him, even when he's out of shape and unmotivated, he was just a fighter. I can think of plenty of exciting moments with him, more so than with a lot of fighters. All the way from pounding Uno out up against the cage, to submitting Hughes out in the RNC, to avenging his loss to Pulver and being LW Champion. The single word that describes him is intensity, and you were ALWAYS excited to see him fight cause of what he brought.
Yeah, he's lost his fair share of fights, but fighters who can lose as little as GSP and Silva are few and far between. I say don't hate him for not being able to compete with GSP, but instead remember him and praise him for what he was, a killer in the Octagon
