Alexander Volkanovski, TKO, R3
Topuria is good but Volkanovski is going to cause him serious problem using his lead leg kick, jab, and feints. Topuria has some good boxing and I like how he exits on angles but he doesn't defend kicks well. He looked like a world beater against Emmett but Emmett is not a varied striker at all. I could see Volk setting up and landing a solid lead head kick on him, similar to Herbert. Topuria leaves himself vulnerable after throwing his right hand. Topuria's power could put Volk out but I'm going to stick with Volk here, I think he's got a few fights left in him.
Whittaker vs. Costa
Paulo Costa, DEC
Taking a gamble on Costa here. This could end up being a vintage Whittaker performance but I just have a feeling Costa's pressure and body shots are going to cause Whittaker problems. Costa needs to make this a messy, chaotic fight. Whittaker is vulnerable on his entries and in exchanges. If Costa can't close the distance he's going to end up getting jabbed up and leg kicked for 3 rounds. Also, neither of these guys has fought an orthodox opponent in forever and both are in weird spots in their career so I'm havin a hard time getting a read on either.
Neal vs. Machado Garry
Ian Machado Garry, DEC
I think Garry is going to look really good here. Neal is a head hunter and while he is powerful he struggles against kickers and he's not great at cutting the cage iirc. I think Garry is going to pick him apart from the outside with kicks.
Dvalishvili vs. Cejudo
Merab Dvalishvili, DEC
Cejudo might be a live dog, but he's getting old and may not be completely healthy. He's a good game planner and I think the leg kick will be there for him but I think Merab is really going to take over wrestling him on the cage. Merab just has so much momentum right now and I don't think Cejudo will be able to get enough off to stop him. Would be kinda cool to see Cejudo win here though.
Hernandez vs. Kopylov
Anthony Hernandez, SUB, R3
Hernandez is hittable and Kopylov is the far better striker at range. But, Hernandez is going to weather the early shots and submit Kopylov late. Hernandez is so so so good at wearing his opponents out by just floating on top of them on the ground and making them scramble. He has really nice dirty boxing and elbows out of the clinch. Hernandez's pace is going to be too much for Kopylov here. Also, Hernandez has fought better competition in his win streak.
Lemos vs. Dern
Amanda Lemos, TKO, R2
Idk what to make of Dern. She's coming off a beatdown by Andrade that was only a few months ago. I don't think she's going to be able to get Lemos and I think Lemos is gonna beat her up and find a stoppage. Lemos was made to look silly by Weili but Weili is levels above Dern.
Rogério de Lima vs. Tafa
Marcos Rogério de Lima, DEC
Can't pick Tafa on 1 day notice, rooting for him though. De Lima will probably wrestle **** him for three rounds though, Tafa's grappling looked pretty bad against Usman.
Nakamura vs. Vera
Rinya Nakamura, SUB, R1
Nakamura is a great prospect. I think he'll find a finish on the ground, either ground and pound TKO or he'll find the back and lock in an RNC.
Zhang vs. Ribeiro
Brendson Ribeiro, TKO, R1
I don't really know either way, but looking at Zhang's record he's only fought complete cans. I mean his second most recent win was against a 1-3 opponent. I can't feel good pickin him until I see him beat someone half decent.
Quinlan vs. Barlow
Danny Barlow, TKO, R2
I usually fade DWCS debutants at this point, but Quinlan isn't very good and Barlow has a long ass reach. Quinlan has power but not many tools besides winging punches at the head iirc. Trusting the community votes here though. Barlow might end up looking terrible like a bunch of other DWCS guys.
Woodburn vs. Elliott
Oban Elliott, TKO, R3
Again, originally picked Woodburn bc fading DWCS debutants has paid off in the past. Going with Elliott here tho. I am not convinced Woodburn is really UFC level
Lee vs. Maverick
Miranda Maverick, DEC
Maverick is gonna look small in there again but I think she should be able to outwrestle Lee. Either way, **** Lee and Tony Kelley
