Legitimately like Pereira's chances here, not even taking into account the previous fights with Adesanya. He just seems to maybe want it more. At the very least I think we finally see Izzy in a fight again. I don't think he'll be able to get through this with 25 minutes of minimal activity. Based on the circumstances around the fight, I could also see a scenario where Adesanya gets it done. It's a bit of a toss-up, really.

Genuinely think Zhang sparks Esparza. Not expecting it to be very competitive at all.

Chandler is powerful and always has a chance, but in almost every other area Poirier is significantly better than him. As for Edgar/Gutierrez; very weird fight. Edgar is past it, and Gutierrez at the very least is in his prime and solid everywhere. If Edgar loses, and gets stopped in particular, I sincerely hope he retires. Not that a loss to Gutierrez is something to be ashamed of, but it's becoming increasingly difficult to watch Edgar fight. He's 41, and you can tell.

Dan Hooker should beat Claudio Puelles, but I do think he is slightly overrated as a fighter and people should not sleep on Puelles.

I heard a lot about titty-gate 2.0 where did you guys spot it? Embedded? I didn't notice anything in the first 3 episodes but don't know if there was a close up of the nipple.

Adesanya vs. Pereira
Pereira, TKO, R2

This fight gives me Rampage/Liddell 2 vibes. Liddell was given the benefit of the doubt by bettors and fans as being the more improved fighter going into the rematch and riding a 7 fight win streak . He was then knocked out cold in less than 2 minutes. His career spiraled downwards shortly after.

Adesanya is a great fighter whom has faced opponents lacking the toolset necessary to defeat a kickboxer who controls range so well. In "Poatan" he finds no such advantage. This fight will undoubtedly be a kickboxing match and history has shown that Alex wins that matchup. Izzy will be outsized and he already has to grapple with the fact that ONE SHOT from Pereira can turn his lights out. Izzy's striking defense has been steadily declining while Pereira is landing 6.29 SpM at a 60% clip. Alex finds the chin late in round 2.

Dan might get finished again, I just don't think he showed Claudio much respect at the last face off, kinda like he was laughing at him, tapped him on the arm like "alright mate". Big red flag. Don't know the level Puelles is on because of the competition he's faced but I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a name for himself tonight

That's how you do it against a young fighter in his biggest spot ever, you try to make him feel like he doesn't belong in there with you. Plant that seed of doubt.

I feel like I'm going to make a lot of money this card, all the signs are there. Usually the less I'm in agreement with the majority, the better I perform.

But that's what I mean. Dan should win on paper but if he lets thoughts cross his mind like "this guy shouldn't be in there with me", he is at risk of being finished. I don't know much about Puelles though, we'll see later

Illogical New Predictions

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 450 Points   |   Tied for 2702nd

Ulberg vs. Negumereanu
I choose Carlos Ulberg at -140. He has a zingy suplex. Ulberg might weaken the victory.

Petroski vs. Turman
I go with Andre Petroski at -200. He has a twisted uppercut and a lascivious check hook. Petroski should bake the performance. Hammertime!

Poirier vs. Chandler
I predict Dustin Poirier at -230. He has a sophisticated side kick to the throat. Poirier isn't about to excite the performance. Mark my words!

Edgar vs. Gutierrez
I tap Chris Gutierrez at -230. He has a brash attitude. Gutierrez should orchestrate the opposing forces. I bet my life on it!

Hooker vs. Puelles
I adopt Dan Hooker at -155. He has a faux oshi-dashi. Hooker must vandalize the previous pitfalls.

Blanchfield vs. McCann
I am taking Erin Blanchfield at -400. She has an advanced side kick to the throat and a glamorous mindset. Blanchfield should seize the cake. Bank on it!

Arce vs. Jackson
I am with Montel Jackson at -200. He has a captivating kouchi gari. Jackson will likely yank the senses. Beep boop!

Azaitar vs. Frevola
I am taking Ottman Azaitar at -150. He has an outrageous kneebar and a weak approach and also a trendy right hand. Azaitar must violate the cake.

Trizano vs. Choi
I go for Seung Woo Choi at -170. He has an incredible dim mak. Choi must assault the cage.

Reyes vs. Spann
I have got Dominick Reyes at -220. He has a jarring spinning back fist. Reyes must nullify the foe.

Esparza vs. Zhang
I am all over Weili Zhang at -325. She has a brash leaping clothesline. Zhang will likely quash the humiliating defeat.

Adesanya vs. Pereira
I finger Israel Adesanya at -220. He has a xenotropic stamina. Adesanya could shatter the previous pitfalls.

Quick thoughts

Predictions: 10 of 14 Winners, 0 Perfect, 515 Points   |   1484th Place

1. Late switches to Negumereanu and Poatan for me. Was back and forth on those two specifically all week. Almost swapped to Chandler but I just can't talk myself into it. Poirier is too good.

2. I truly can't believe I'm saying this but I love Matt Frevola against Ottman. Sure, he could get knocked out like he did against Mckinney. But when I factor in Ottmans inactivity after comparing their QOC, suddenly this fight doesn't seem close too me. Frevola is no world beater but he can definitely win this fight.

3. Very strong feeling Puelles/Hooker will resemble Ferguson/Olivera. Also not the first time I'm saying this but I'll keep going on record saying that Paddy vs. Puelles WILL eventually happen.

4. Speaking of Paddy, I wouldn't at all be surprised if Molly continues to channel some of her own new found hype into a statement win. Very tall task IMO but truthfully, I thought about this fight a lot longer than I thought I would. You can't disregard a fighters momentum. It's a hard thing to quantify but a stupid thing to ignore. I still got Blanchfield but would be lying if I said I wasn't pulling for Molly. Not gonna make a homer pick here though.

5. I think Reyes and Moicano walk through their opponents with little issue.

-Moicano looked awesome at 155 until he took a short notice fight against an (at the time) top 5 opponent. Brad Riddell, who I do think is an above average striker, should be on a 3 fight losing streak IMO.

-Reyes was an undefeated fighter that was starching a lot of opponents with ease before running into two of the best fighters on the planet (Jones/Jiri). I will genuinely be impressed if Ryan Spann makes it to round 2.

My point is that he may just act that way to try and intimidate Puelles. Imo Hooker is one of those dudes that always looks ****y, kinda like Rockhold. But it may just be an act. I'm sure he has the same doubts as most people going into a fight have, doesn't mean you have to show it.
