Arce made good work of Ewell who also had a 5” reach advantage but Ewell doesn’t have other threats besides his striking

ModestMan I struggled with that pick for a bit myself, but I honestly think Jackson will win this one. Arce is super inconsistent. The only way Arce can win this one is when he sets the pace and keeps this fight on the feet. His striking is a lot cleaner than Jackson's, but Jackson has a lot more power. I know that Arce beat Ewell, but Ewell doesn't possess the kind of power that Jackson has. Jackson doesn't like it when he's on his back foot and that's usually when he decides to shoot for a takedown. If Jackson does decide to shoot, I really can't see Arce defending it. So my guess is that this fight will be predominantly on the ground. Which is where I see a clear advantage for Jackson. So that will be my pick for this one.

Just throwing out a random question for you guys. How do you guys think Petroski vs Turman plays out?

Another tough one. 2 scenarios, Petroski gets a knock out early or fatigues and gets subbed later. I can’t see it going any other way

*****_swaggins I don't think Petroski can do it. I got Petroski to win this one too, but by decision. I think he will control Turman the entire three rounds. Petroski gasses kinda quick and Turman's ground game is pretty solid. So I think this fight plays out on the ground and I don't think either guy can get a sub.

ModestMan That's what makes this fight tricky for me to pick. I know a lot of people think Turman is a can. He's definitely not high level, but his ground game is really good. I'm also worried about Petroski's cardio, but I do think that he can control Turman on the ground, since Turman usually doesn't mind pulling guard or allow himself to fight from his back.

There are a lot of close fights on this card on paper. A few of them a lot closer than most people seem to think.

Adesanya vs. Pereira
Israel Adesanya, DEC
probably see izzy wrestle a bit, but i'm not buying the idea that he's simply outclassed standing. both have certainly evolved as fighters since their last meeting.

Esparza vs. Zhang
Weili Zhang, DEC
brain says carla can/will get td's, gut says weili can survive and punish in between attempts.

Poirier vs. Chandler
Dustin Poirier, TKO, R2
chandler leaves too many openings, dustin stays sharp.

Edgar vs. Gutierrez
Chris Gutierrez, DEC
either frankie catches an early legkick into a smothering td or he gets chewed up.

Hooker vs. Puelles
Claudio Puelles, DEC
dan will look good for a bit before puelles starts crashing in and forcing the grappling.

Moicano vs. Riddell
Renato Moicano, SUB, R2
i think moicano will be the one dictating where the fight takes place and forcing the scrambles.

Reyes vs. Spann
Dominick Reyes, TKO, R2
i'm willing to write off dom's losses as "too much too soon" type things. spann could definitely find his chin too, but i have to believe that the time off has let dom's body/brain heal and his gameplan evolve/sharpen.

Blanchfield vs. McCann
Erin Blanchfield, DEC
erin starts slow it seems so it's gonna be a battle of who can take r2. i'll say she wakes up late r1 and decides she doesn't wanna get punched anymore so grappling would be a better idea.

Petroski vs. Turman
Andre Petroski, SUB, R1
not sure wellington has the hands to force andre into mistakes.

Azaitar vs. Frevola
Ottman Azaitar, TKO, R1
feel like frevola will oblige ottman in a tough-guy contest

Kowalkiewicz vs. Juárez
Karolina Kowalkiewicz, SUB, R2
still jaded on silvana, can't erase the memory of her throwing away the demopoulos win, and karolina showed improved grappling against [an albeit kinda shot] felice. i'll say she finds her way on top and breaks juarez.

Trizano vs. Choi
Seung Woo Choi, DEC
i'm bad at picking both of these guys. going with choi because he seems to have more pop.

Arce vs. Jackson
Julio Arce, DEC
i don't think arce is really outclassed standing and he's done a good job staying off his back, i'll say he can stuff montel's shots and chip away.

Ulberg vs. Negumereanu
Carlos Ulberg, DEC
guess i feel like it's gonna be a range battle where nic is gonna chase carlos but not be able to really back him into a corner to land his big shots.

Honestly kind of suprised Juarez isn't a bigger favorite.

Trizano vs. Choi
Seung Woo Choi, TKO, R2
Really hoping Choi wins, have a hard time putting money on him tho

Arce vs. Jackson
Montel Jackson, DEC
That 5.5 reach advantage tho

Ulberg vs. Negumereanu
Nicolae Negumereanu, DEC
Trusty and well rounded Negumereanu or explosive and fresh Ulberg. We'll see.

Kowalkiewicz vs. Juárez
Silvana Gómez Juárez, DEC
Kawalkiewicz 4 prior loss streak is really not indiciative of the caliber fighter that she is. However, me and others are banking on the fact that Juarez had a strong standup performance and maybe has found a way to keep the fight on her feet where she is a threat to anyone in this division.

Trizano vs. Choi
Seung Woo Choi, DEC
The betting line vs what we all pick tells the exactstory. Could triziano win? yes, but the majority of us are considering Choi to be a better than the #56 in the world

Arce vs. Jackson
Montel Jackson, DEC
Arce fought good fights and has more experience so their records are not that different. However Jackson is on the comeup and will probably rise higher where as arce is around where he should be.

Ulberg vs. Negumereanu
Nicolae Negumereanu, DEC
Close match up skill wise, but Ulberg lost to nchukwu and negumereanu beat him, has a better streak and more experience.

I just think her grappling keeps her in the fight. Carla has fought everyone you can think of over the years. Rose is a much more dangerous striker. If she can go 5 rounds with Rose surely she can with zhang. We’ll see though. Like I said I’m going with zhang but no way would I put money on it. Carla has been slept on for a very long time and has never really gotten the respect she deserves. I remember the stats being pretty much the same for her last fight. Most people picked 2nd round ko. Even tho it was a boring fight Carla got it done. We’ll see how this plays out.
