Anyone else get tired from watching fights? If I'm already a bit tired and I watch a gruelling fight where a fighter is gassing out it makes me even more tired, I can feel their exhaustion through my monitor. Maybe it's because I'm old.

@gliese58i I watched UFC 1, 2 and 3 over the last 2 days and it really rekindled my passion, I want to watch the dark ages the most but its sick looking back, was more spectacle than sport, incredible how it evolved and became a legit sport and the pay has gotten alot better thinking about it... I still wish bottom level was at least 35k show and win or even 40k maybe someday.... 50k show and win minimum for all fighters is what I dream of though

Fighters should get payed more but they're not going to get it for free, same as any profession. If fighters want more than 10/10 or 12/12 take note of fighters like Rumble Johnson making a career elsewhere and getting payed a lot more for his first fight in the UFC. Or Yazmin Jauregui recently. She got 25/25 as a 23 year old debutante, all because she got into the promotion directly instead of via contender. Contender series is a bit of a trap if you're good enough to get to the UFC without it.

Yeah your right... I suppose its ironic arguably the most noble and self destroying sports dont get compensated as much as more easy going (really easy going for golf or soccer mostly) ball sports.... I know theres many other sports like that aswell they dont have the fan numbers or whatever to really pay them well, but im all for proving your worth... I just hope it can grow and get more successful so even for the fighters who cant make it and go 0-2 or 0-3 in UFC still made 100 or 150k or so before expenses so its still a nice little amount to put towards a house or whatever

I think Santos has a more than 60% chance of winning this.

The only, and I mean only thing going against him is his cardio. Problem is that his cardio is a fairly significant worry.

Skill for skill Leonardo Santos is elite. Multiple world champion in BJJ, good wrestling, very good striking with legit KO power.

If not for his age, cardio and the long break he took he should have been top 15 if he wasn't already.

Then you should put a sprinkle on Santos by finish, there's no way he wins a decision imo. He's 42,5 years old at lightweight and his gas tank probably hasn't gotten better since the last time we saw him. THere's some juicy odds for finish, haven't even looked at Santos rd 1 but that is the most likely window for him to end it.

The UFC is considered the pinnacle of MMA. A billion dollar company with a world wide audience run by a multi millionaire who tips waitresses thousands of dollars.

Some fighters train their whole life, sacrifice everything to get here. Put their health and even life on the line. Can often only fight 1 - 3 times per year due to injury. Have to pay their training team, managers, coaches from their earnings.

And finally getting to the "Ultimate" fighting championship and facing the worlds most elite, dangerous killers they get paid 12k and 12k.

Dana can yell at reporters and call them *******s all he wants. He is the *******. There is no excuse, none, to pay the fighters so poorly. And absolutely every fighter on a PPV should get a cut of the money. Absolutely everyone.

It's filthy and disgusting how they do business. But the UFCs horrible business practices are now coming back to bite them with the rise of PFL and Bellator.

Akmedov is gone. Pettis is gone. Shoeface is gone. Corey Anderson and Yoel Romero is gone. Kai kamaka is gone. Shane Burgos just signed a million dollar deal with PFL. Paulo Costa is considering leaving. Many others including Ngannou  are looking at their options.

The UFC is going to see more and more skilled fighters with name value like Diaz leave. And they have absolutely no one else to blame than their greedy selves.

Very good odds and 100% value for money.

Could Santos lose? Sure. But could he win? Absolutely, in fact I favour him to win more than close fights like Aldo/Merab and AJ/Loosa. Even Romanov/Tybura and Rockhold/Costa have a level of risk similar to this fight.

That's a bet I will be making. Thanks.

SPLIT DECISION

"...now coming back to bite them with the rise of PFL and Bellator. "

"Akmedov is gone. Pettis is gone. Shoeface is gone. Corey Anderson and Yoel Romero is gone. Kai kamaka is gone. Shane Burgos just signed a million dollar deal with PFL. Paulo Costa is considering leaving. Many others including Ngannou  are looking at their options."

The rise of PFL and Bellasnore? That's a bold prediction. They will never overtake the UFC. Their infrastructure throughout the world is unmatched in MMA. How many Performance Institutes does Scott Coker have? The UFC will never lose its market share to either of those promotions. Some oil tycoon from the middle east would have to pour billions of dollars into a new league to even entice a fraction of the UFC roster (See LIV Tour).

As for the fighters you listed? Pettis is terrible, Yoel is nothing special anymore, Kai boy is boring, Paulo is delusional, Ngannou is a *****.

Corey Anderson and Hurricane Shane are the only dudes that are missed.

I was a bit surprised at the odds actually, I'm going to sprinkle a bit on it myself. I think Leonardo is elite for at least 1 round.

Are gone* And yeah no nobody cares about Kamaka leaving lmao. He got released. But yeah I agree, the UFC and Dana are a bunch of *******s. They're not evil, they do take care of fighters SOMETIMES, and Dana has given private bonuses, but still its ******* ******** that some people only get 20 thousand dollars for taking years of their lives. Minimum pay should be 50k for even the lowest level fighter on the roster. If they aren't UFC level then fire them and let go to another promotion that can actually use them. PAY THE ******* FIGHTERS!

These people aren't forced to sign with the UFC. They all signed the ******* contracts willingly. Why does no one understand this?

Taking years off their lives'? That's their choice. That is the profession they choose. Same with tow truck drivers hooking up vehicles on the side of the road. They chose that **** knowing that all you millennials are texting, jacking off, and driving at the same time.

@split yeah if he makes weight comfortably I’m actually decently confident he wins the fight. It’s not like his skills have gone out the window, just his cardio and like you said, it’s not even THAT bad. It just looks bad because of the guida fight. If he hits gordon the same way, the fight will be over quick
