I've been calling this one since the beginning of the fight announcement, but damn not even I imagined it would be so one-sided. Gaethje learned to be more patient after the loss to Porier. He has been amazing since, rewatch his last fights if you don't believe me. Now that people have noticed, put some respect on this man's name!! Stop writing him off, patient Gaethje is on another level. Love u too Tony, he truly deserved the title shot :(

Not underrated, people just weren't paying attention to his evolution into a refined, measured technical striker. Most people still had him pegged as a wild, violent slugger.

Partly that but Ferguson is very overrated as well. He’s been in trouble in most of his fights. All it takes is someone that hits harder and can somewhat keep up with him

Nope neither originally Gaethje was over hyped he had trouble then beat johnson.
More hyped odd as he was very lucky there, when he hit top level comp he got worked.
Eddie former champ and longtime contender taught him a lesson in gameplanning.
He was taught a lesson in overconfidence and boxing with dusti again kod.
Really tony had an off night period, he could have won just didnt have a good plan or failed to execute.
Nate Diaz best qoute "It's a fight" with little gloves anyone can get kod.
If the knockdown in round 2 was 10 seconds earlier and tony grabbed that neck this post would read different.
In closing huge props to Gaethje his hands looked great and his gameplan was about as good as it could be.
PS if you think these fight would go same way ran back you are completely wrong.

I wouldn't say he's improved but he's definitely more patient.

Would you say he’s improved because of his developing of patience?

Yes. Fair enough. But I still feel gaethje is an extremely one dimensional fighter. And aside from one uppercut Gaethje got off easy against an el cu'cuy who I believe was not at his best due to the double weight cut.

I think it was difficult to tell, because we never really saw him past the first round after his loss to Poirier.

No he was not. The gameplan and patience that we saw against Ferguson were totally new. He has evolved.
