@mikey

Hard to say Thompson won when he and Till did **** all to make a convincing argument that either man deserved the win.  Wonderboy has gone from exciting knockout artist to a karate point fighter over night and it is frustrating to watch.

I'll rewatch it again. I will say the same thing I say for Cruz and Machida, if they are landing more and moving backwards, they should be rewarded for that. I think the best example of a guy moving back who clearly won was Condit vs Nick Diaz. Some seem to think Nick won that, but if you watch how many strikes land and account for round-scoring, Condit clearly took it. I see that same thing for Thompson here, he landed more, kept his pace for the most part and took more rounds. He probably shouldn't have taken the fight in the U.K. against a hometown boy, there's a bad history of that in the UFC.

Just watched the fight.

Bit of a robbery. First off, Til is gigantic and I have no idea how he makes WW. I suspect that won't last long.

Thompson should have been given three rounds, and I'm not sure if the fifth was scored a 10-8 but if it was, that would probably be the worst 10-8 I've seen in a very, very long time.

Still glad Til won. He's a very impressive striker, but we've yet to see him against a wrestler. WB was able to take  him down...I think if someone like Usman or even Meek can avoid something big they take him out fairly easily. RDA, Woodley--I think both would maul him.

Fishman, I get what you mean, Till winning is better for WW, but how anyone can be happy for a perceived robbery is not an integrous response, imo.

Well he handled five rounds pretty well, to be fair. However given that not a lot was thrown and he didn't have to work off his back, it remains to be seen how good his gastank truly is. Thompson was trotting around on his pony quite a bit though, so Til was mobile the whole fight.

It's definitely a better outcome for the division. I don't want to see Wonderboy in a title fight ever again TBH....he just doesn't go after it the way he once did and he bores the **** out of me now. After the Masvidal fight I was off the train.

Speaking of which, Masvidal vs Till would be a ******* great fight, knockout basically guaranteed. I guess Til would be the big favorite in that but I could easily see Masvidal sparking him. Doubt that fight gets made though.

I can't call Till v Thompson a robbery or even controversial. 4 rounds could have gone either way. The only fighter who won any round convincingly is Till and that was rd 5.

Also Till Outlanded Thompson in 3 of the 5 rounds and the two Thompson won the difference was one strike. With Till controlling the center and pressing forward based on any criteria he won the fight.

I'm glad you said that. I definitely need to watch the fight back again but since I first watched it I felt like I must have missed something. I saw it as super close but Till on top. I wouldn't have put in the category of robbery in a million years. I wanted Thompson to win before someone claims British bias. You miss weight, you deserve to lose.
