If they match up Gall with Sage next, it has the potential to be pretty bad. While Sage might be as good as a lot of people make him out to be, but Gall's opponents (3 Pro and 3 amateur) were a total of 3-3. He might turn out to be good in the future, but at the moment he's not the world beater he likes to think he is.

He may not be a world beater, but from what I've seen of Northcutt, I think Gall matches up well. Northcutt's ground game is rudimentary, and Gall will be the bigger and longer fighter at 170. Northcutt's big for 155, but probably a below average sized welterweight. I think it's a good litmus test for Gall and it keeps him in the spotlight. Honestly, based on the matchup, I actually think Gall was pretty smart with his call out of a guy that's only fought once at 170 (also his only loss), but who does have some hype and notoriety, but at the same time is a legitimate professional fighter, unlike his previous three wins.

@Zarog What if Sage's team demands the fight to take place at 155, you know, Sage's weight class. The weight class could be a big roadblock for this fight.

My understanding is Sage has already said he's okay with fighting at either weightclass. Additionally, I don't think Gall will be able to make 155 and Dana's already said the fight's going to be made as Sage's camp called him up and said they'd take it.

The Gall fight is the easiest fight Sage is going to get by far and lends itself to some dumb marketing hype. No reason he wouldn't take it at 170.

If that fight goes down I will more than likely pick Gall because I feel he has more heart and is more of a fighter than Northcutt.

This is a fight that Sage could easily lose.
