i see how on paper this could be a bad matchup for jiri, but the type of pressure that he fights with could also be very problematic for alex. ultimately i feel like alex is already his "finished product" mode, whereas jiri is still evolving in terms of western mma and still building his legacy.
Pavlovich vs. Aspinall

i'm sure a lot of people are looking at this like a revisiting of tom/volkov, but i don't think sergei is going to be anywhere close to as accepting of being on his back as volkov has historically been. tom is gonna have to trade with him and i'd have to give pavlovich the edge there.
Andrade vs. Dern

there's the possibility that dern's newfound striking aggression gets her clipped, but i think jessica is a more limited fighter when going against opponents that aren't threatened by her grappling.
Frevola vs. Saint-Denis
Benoit Saint-Denis, TKO, R2
hedge. benoit is more polished, but anything can happen in what figures to be a dogfight.
Sabatini vs. Lopes

pat might just get stuck striking and ko'd there, realistically. if he manages to not get melted though i think his relentless ground game will be enough to mute diego's guard aggression.
Erceg vs. Costa

erceg got some respect in his debut and showed he can go 3 hard rounds. he's never been finished and costa seems to mostly finish his wins.
Ricci vs. Godinez

both take down all their opponents so maybe that'll neutralize each other a bit and be more of a positional jockeying tactic. if so, the more relentless pressure will win and i think loopy has shown the ability to push forward more.
Rębecki vs. Roberts
Mateusz Rębecki, TKO, R2
roosevelt is gonna have to get respect early countering if he wants to avoid rebecki's pressure, but i'm not sure the sniper approach will work for him here on short notice and missing weight.
Sadykhov vs. Borshchev

gotta think nazim will mix it up a bit with td's given slava's statistics, question is just how accurate can slava be during nazim's burst moments. i'll say early power forces him to shell and it results in td's.
Gordon vs. Madsen

jared can probably threaten more standing and make mark pay for his td entries.
Kang vs. Castañeda

seems like castaneda has less success when his opponents can stifle his td attempts a bit and push their own, and i think kang's range and normal gameplan could fit that.
Van vs. Borjas

van impressed against a vet, not sure what to make of borjas.
Buzukja vs. Emmers

emmers might let him get a little too comfortable, but should be slick enough to avoid the big shots?

I'm taking Pavlovich.
My heart says Poatan but my brain says Jiri. Jiri is the LHW equivalent to Tony Fergusson when Tony was on his 13 fight win streak. He fought legit, technical strikers and grapplers and dismantled every single one of them. The way Jiri fights, it reminds me a lot of that. Tony got hit a lot but he dealt more damage to his opponents by the end of the fight. I think Jiris career will have a similar sharp, decline but I'm taking Jiri tonight inside of 2 rounds.
