Oh damn is that the reason? It was a money thing? Yeah I am bummed she's gone too, losing women fighters that are actually skilled/tough seems so wrong.
So many fun match ups that will now not happen

Hey side note - you should bring back your old profile animation of that duck with the knife! That was boss level!!!! hah

Loopy's boxing looked good against Reed who has her chin up in the air, I don't think she will look as good against Ricci. The advantageous positions Loopy had against Reed puts her in submission threats here so I doubt she will try to drag Ricci down near the fence. On the feet, I think Ricci has tighter boxing where as Loopy walk her punches. I also don't see Loopy checking leg kicks and Ricci started and ended several combos with leg kicks against Robertson. Of course, just like Loopy looking good against Reed, Ricci looked good against Robertson on the feet so that's not saying a lot. I think there may be some recency bias towards Loopy, making her a favorite here.

If this fight stays on the feet, I can see Ricci looking more impressive and busy than Loopy would. If it goes on the mat, which I imagine would be initiated by Ricci and not Loopy, I can see Ricci threatening with submissions, potentially even finding one later in the fight.

Missed Opportunity.

Predictions: 7 of 13 Winners, 1 Perfect, 445 Points   |   Tied for 3086th

The poster for this card is so disappointing, with the main event being a fight against a Czech samurai and a Brazilian jungle warrior they could have put more effort on it.

In my mind I am picturing a black and white poster with them facing each other. Jiri side has a ice blue color and Poatan has a green jungle color.

I've seen fan made vids for the fight that had me hyped up, with jiri swinging a katana and poatan stalking with a bow. This poster doesn't give me the same kind of emotion and anticipation for the fight.

Aspinal by tko 3 round

Predictions: 9 of 13 Winners, 2 Perfect, 545 Points   |   Tied for 1410th

Aspinal seems to me to have more weapons than Pav, he is a better MMA fighter, a better striker, more feints and more agile, Pav has the power to destroy but I think that Aspinal can lengthen the fight and take advantage in boxing, adding points tko in the third round

I have Jiri by sub at +1300, 10 to win 130 is nice

Im looking at Pav vs Aspinal to finish in round 2 as a bit of a long shot, I can see Aspinal elusiveness and Pavlovich size making them hard to finish, also both of them being scary might stall the fight out a bit

Alex Pereira by tko 4 round

Predictions: 9 of 13 Winners, 2 Perfect, 545 Points   |   Tied for 1410th

Alex Pereira has something going for him here, Jiri's messy style also comes from a shoulder injury and a year and a half without fighting. Maybe I'm exaggerating. I can see Alex hunting him until he reaches tko and if the fight reaches a decision, he'll take it. They will give Pereira for Jiro does not sell, but I trust Pereira to win by tko

@GumpGuy - Mackenzie Dern

Predictions: 7 of 13 Winners, 2 Perfect, 415 Points   |   Tied for 3559th

@GumpGuy
No, I meant wrestling/grappling as a combined skillset, not wrestling individually.
I will have to disagree that Dern has zero wrestling as in her last 5 fights she got 7 takedowns and gave up 0 takedowns. So she has 'some' wrestling, not great because of number of failed attempts but good enough to threaten. Mackenzie doesn't have good traditional wrestling but she puts herself in very good clinch positions, uses the cage very well and trips opponents to get the fight to the ground. Andrade has shown in recent fights that she is not very good in clinch positions other than the Murphy fight. But she was fighting short notice fights against some of the best grapplers and in multiple divisions. At the same time Andrade is lightning quick and very explosive, which will make it very hard for Mackenzie to clinch her and hold her for longer periods.

Jiri sub isn't a bad play.

Michailidis was doing really well against Pereira in R1 until he realized he wasn't built for that type of size difference.

pretty much as long as Dern doesnt make this a war especially in brawling striking against Andrade like she did with Hill. She will be fine. Andrade still has real power and Dern's striking is improved but its not great or clean and plays into Andrade's style. However Dern just needs to clinch, cage wrestle (nothing to do with traditional wrestling) and use her judo trips. get her down against the cage or in the open. get mount or back and ride out the rounds until a sub presents itself and with Andrade thats bound to happen. Andrade is strong and knows some grappling. But the difference is Dern is way more of a submission threat than Tatiana or Erin ever was. So tbh she could even standing arm triangle her against the cage if she sets it up and tbh if she cant get her down or is losing on the feet, pulling guard can work if she is active and andrade has horrid fight IQ to stay in the guard.

After rewatching the Overeem fight I'm leaning Tommy by ko or sub. Sergei lacks in grappling.  I think both guys have fairly durable chins. Might come down to grappling

Overeem fight was in 2018 though, that's a long time ago and he was a young fighter going up against a proven elite fighter, it was his UFC debut as well. He might have made improvements since. I don't know if we can take much from that.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 13 Winners, 4 Perfect, 555 Points   |   Tied for 1304th

Gordon vs. Madsen
Jared Gordon, DEC
Madsen is a bit overrated and Gordon is a bit underrated in my opinion. In the last three years all Madsen has done is win two relatively close decisions against 40 year old men and get finished by Dawson. Gordon beat Paddy regardless of what those scorecards said and he was looking pretty solid against Green too before the clash of heads. He stuffs Madsen's takedowns and outclasses him on the feet. 30-27 UD

Kang vs. Castañeda
Kyung Ho Kang, DEC
Castañeda has wrestling in his back pocket, but his opponents are usually back to their feet pretty quickly when he does get a takedown. Kang has also shown good scrambling ability and doesn't accept being put on his back. With that being said, if this fight stays on the feet Kang is the far more technical striker. He should be able to use his jab to keep Casteñada at range, mix up his strikes, and point his way to a decisive 29-28 victory.

Van vs. Borjas
Joshua Van, DEC
This fight should be fun! Both of these young guys have hands and they're not afraid to stand and bang. I was a little bit more impressed with Van against Zhalgas than I was Borjas in his CS fight. His striking just looks a bit slicker to me. I'll take Van in a 29-28 banger. My FOTN lock 🔒

Buzukja vs. Emmers
Jamall Emmers, DEC
Emmers' has three losses in the UFC. Those opponents have a combined UFC record of 15-3. Two of those losses came by way of split decision, so he's a lot better than his record shows. Buzukja showed a lot of heart and toughness in his debut, but he lost all three rounds and didn't look like anything special. Emmers shouldn't be this big of a favorite, but he should be able to grab a decision win here. 29-28 UD
