I’m a fan of Gane and he is the better striker but he got outwrestled by Francis with a bum knee. Jon should dominate.

Tbh I understand why would bananas bet on Jones, litteraly Ciryl lost to injured Ngannou because he got hard outwrestled. (At least thats how I remember Ngannou vs Gane).

Jones is actually a favorite and I wouldn't be so sure his wrestling will be effective. Ngannou had two busted knees and isn't a wrestler, but he's also muuuuuuuuuuch stronger than Jones. Idk if Jones will be able to overpower Gane enough to get him on the floor, and plus Gane has most certainly improved his TDD defense since then. Jones couldn't even convincingly beat Reyes, and now he's just a fatter, older version of that, I think Gane as an underdog is free money

After this layup Jones retires the best ever nobody will come close, also the best paid heavy.
Hope he educates Gane and does not just point fight him to ribbons with occasional takedowns.

Gane is nearly same size lacks power and his grappling is levels behind.
Unless Jones is washed it wont be close.
Sure Gane has footwork and goofy look advantage thats all I see.
He got pinged badly by Volkov a very slow kickboxer.
Can see a second round sub or 5  round shelacking.
Aside from cheapshot elbow what is Gane to offer?

Jones did go to split decisions against no knees Santos & arguably lost against Dominic Reyes. He's also been out for 3 years & is fighting one of the most talented guys he's ever fought & is now fighting guys his size. Gane definitely has a wrestling hole in his game but I don't he expected Ngannou to wrestle he was probably just worried about the power.

Farid is going to win here.  I am sold on the Basharat brothers permanently.  These two siblings are here to stay.  Going to enjoy watching their careers unfold.

@josh okay but what in Jones recent performances make you think this will be easy. He has looked slow and pretty much everyone outside of biased idiots thinks he lost to reyes. Sure he’s the goat of the sport (controversy’s aside) but he hasn’t fought in three years and is going up a weight class. The speed and size advantage he once enjoyed will be gone. Gane has almost a similar frame and is used to fighting at this weight class. It doesn’t matter how good you are, if you put on more weight you are sacrificing your speed. Gane will likely weigh less than Jones and is used to fighting at this weight. Not to mention, most people compare gane to a heavyweight jones. He’s got athelticism that we just haven’t seen at 265 and is younger and has less tread on the tires. Sure jon has taken very little damage in his career but he’s been fighting since his early 20s. I don’t care what genetics you have, 15 years in the game will take its toll on you eventually. I don’t think it’s going to be as easy as you think

Jones is gonna get busted for PEDs, he's a habitual line stepper and I guarantee this ends bad.

I would prefer to see Gane x Blaydes before this one tbh, just to see if Bon Gamin really improved his TDD.

I think Jones will be really motivated to win this title, unlikely when he was fighting at light heavyweight in his last fights. And something to add to it: who knows if Jones is not using PEDs for this fight... I wouldn't be that confident in betting on Gane against Jones.

Let's see if the odds will turn heavily in favor of Jones. If so, I may consider putting something on Gane.

I might get massively down voted but to be totally honest one of Jones' best moves was (as he called it) 'stick his fingers out front to measure distance', when in reality he was just trying to 'not cheat' and get in your eye.
Seriously, he did it so much that one could argue the fingers up rule was because of him. Go back and see for yourself, it helped him win so many times in the early days.

That's a fact. A big part of Jones' high fight IQ is him knowing how to get away with fouls. The combination of his insane natural reach and his willingness to stick his fingers in his opponents eyes meant he could manage distance much more easily than other fighters.
