gliese I trully hopes he learns some pacing because the raw talent, legit wrestling and athleticism would be ****** to waste such 'potential'.  He could be so good.

ModestManI agree with most of your takes. The big question mark for me is Hill's ground game. He recently got his brown belt. So he can't be that bad on the ground. Although his takedown defense doesn't seem all that great. Since he got taken down several times by Santos and we all know that Santos isn't a grappler nor does he have a grappling heavy fighting style. So perhaps we will get more answers tonight and see how good Hill's defensive grappling actually is. On the other hand, Glover always gets hit a lot and that worries me in this fight. Mainly because Hill is a very smart and calculated striker. His offensive striking is smooth and he has really good counterstriking as well. I personally think that Hill will finish Glover in RD 2, but chances are that this fight could play out very similarly as Glover's fight against Rumble Johnson.

Lol thank you man. I may need all the luck I get.

I admit I got a little carried away and bet more than I should have. Hut I think I have good reads on this card.

If not... oh well first PPV of the year. Plent of time to recover.

My main concern about the Lazzez fight is that if it goes to decision he will probably get robbed. So I did go a little lighter with that one.

@gilese yeah I would stay far away from that one. The lack of tape combined with the fact that the ufc signed Lacerda straight up with a full camp makes me wonder if this is like a jaregui situation. Getting stamann in ur debut, especially as an unknown prospect is a tough ask

The only one more juiced than me going into these fights is (hopefully) Shogun. Hope I don't overshoot the mark which I sometimes do with these caffeine injections. It's not easy being an old man and watching sports with an eye to bet until 7 AM in the morning.

I just rewatched Potieria's last two fights. Call me crazy, but I honestly think that Rua can win this fight. I understand that people may think that Rua will probably stand and strike with Potieria, but that wouldn't be a very smart thing to do. I honestly think that Potieria has some serious issues if Rua can get him in the clinch or to the ground. Don't forget, Rua has a very solid ground game (BJJ blackbelt) and Potieria's ground and clinch game are weak. I know this may seem crazy based on Rua's past fights, but I think I will change my pick and go for the upset.

I'm a big believer in crowd energy so going Brazil heavy

Predictions: 7 of 15 Winners, 2 Perfect, 450 Points   |   Tied for 4409th

Teixeira vs. Hill
Teixeira, SUB
Hill is a good up and coming talent but there are levels. The added crowd factor only makes it that much harder to land that perfect bomb he needs to win. Glover is old but he can take a punch as good as anybody. Do people think Hill hits any harder, if at all, than Jiri? The "Glover is old!" argument itself has gotten old, but its also fair to mention that Glover's last fight was a 25 minute war that might have taken years off his life.

Figueiredo vs. Moreno
Fiueiredo, DEC
I think Figgy has Moreno figured out at this point. I only needed him to look good and healthy on the scales for me to be fully confident in taking him and thats what I saw. I think Moreno's only advantage is he was able to get in a fight against a different opponent and get a nice finish. However, I don't think it's going to be enough. Moreno is just such a hard fighter to gauge because he's not the most accurate striker but he fights like a dog. Very hard to ever count him out but I unfortunately am here.

Burns vs. Magny
Burns, DEC
I dont see Burns getting the finish he's promising because Magny is traditionally so durable but I think the grappling difference here is just way too big.

Murphy vs. Andrade
Andrade, KO/TKO

At this point I've seen Andrade beat several fighters way better than Lauren Murphy.

Craig vs. Walker
Walker, KO/TKO

If Glover can get a takedown and keep him there, it’s gonna be a long night. If he can’t. Glover gonna take a beat down standing. Either way, I’m hoping Hill wins

AyyLmaonnaiseI honestly think the matchmakers gave Rua Potieria because of his flawed clinch and ground game. Which makes this fight winnable for Rua. I just hope he shows up tonight. Not just for the fans sake, but also for his sake. I would like him to finish his impressive career with a win.

@noxx I agree, they tried to give him the worst possible fighter lol. There’s just no way in hell I can back him here. He looks so slow and old. On the mma hour he was talking about how he hates training because he has so many pains from injuries which is just a red flag. He’s been done for years sadly

I wouldn't at all be surprised if Hill flash KOs Glover. That man is on a mission to fight Jiri and it's almost like he's willing it into existence.

foppa420  I totally get why you're picking Glover to win. To answer your question; Hill most definitely hits harder than Jiri does. Jiri has a lot more output and strikes with the intention to accumulate damage. He doesn't land bombs the way Hill does. Hill strikes with the intention to finish fights. Hill only has to land one clean to put you out. Jiri doesn't have that kind of KO power.

@ayy forsure my guy. idk about him, "not being a good fighter." Oli did few things in the Gravely fight that are telling to me. He has good whereabouts in the clinch. The front kick as a range finder is a big weapon for him and setting up the flying knees. he does that to welcome takedown reactions to set up his choke/ground game. If he doesn't gas in the later rounds its honestly a decent style for most matchups if he keeps improving his jab and follow ups. However, it forsure can not be favorable in the sport if he can't pull the subs off his back or establish a top game, and potentially give up rounds. That being said, his style pulls his opponents into shooting or grappling, so don't feel to confident Marcos won't shoot.

I feel Gravely just had an overall strength advantage and has a good concept of boxing on the inside, which is where Oli is weak. Not saying Marcos doesn't. In my original breakdown I said he can find success if he throws the check 6 and 2-3, but I don't see him having the type of strength/wrestling Gravely had to sort of level out the fight. Although, I do feel he will have a lot of opportunities to land clean. We'll see how polished he is then.  Def fun seeing your opinion on the two. Thanks for that. Much respect.
