I don’t get why saying Cyril Gane is arguably the best striker in ufc heavyweight history getting downvotes, I think he’s that good on the feet. I fell like most mma fans get stuck in 2013 with who they think of greatness, We get it GSP, Silva, Jones, Fedor etc, are really good, but Adesanya, Usman, Volk and Francis etc, are just as good as them, or arguably better then the older fighters.
I think Gane is on a path to greatness, I think he going to be even better since fighting Francis, people will put him with the fighter I mention earlier

I think the downvotes have to do with the Jordan comparison my friend.

Don't take it personally, some people are just salty.
Gane is definitely the most technical HW striker I've seen in MMA. Best is debatable, but other than N'Gannou and JDS I don't think he has much competition. Dudes who can wrestle (thinking Blaydes or Aspinall) could give Gane trouble, but I don't see anyone beating Gane on the feet without a lucky shot.

I still don’t get why that pissing people off, Gane is the best kickboxer in the division, even Francis had to wrestle him to win, I just think if Francis can’t beat you on the feet, what hope does Tai does, I don’t know anything about Basketball, So I don’t my anology make sense, all I’m saying is beating Gane without using wrestling is as hard at beating Michael Jordon at 1v1 basketball, they a reason why Tai is +600

No Non Nein Usman is not even close Gane may be top 10 ever he decisioned via grappling several of them.
Volk is the only one with any argument and may get a 155 win soon at high level.
Jones is still the best LHW and yes arguably all time as a heavy no chance he would have been better seeing if he could hit 185.
What even is the Jordan thing like Super Human can FLY Jordan from the 90s or 60yo Jordan?
Or do you mean one of the lameass actors who have the same name?
Don't think I downvoted ya duck but another Usman is the best at anything and I will lmao.

I'm picking Tuivasa because he's a fellow Aussie, not because I earnestly believe he's going to win. That's extremely unlikely. He would have to trap Gane on the cage and tee off. Whenever the fight takes place in space he loses, and if it hits the mat he loses. Just an incredibly narrow path to victory.

People don't understand that 90's ball was a different game than what is played today.
If Jordan was playing in Today's league, I'd expect him to average between 40-45 points. He was just that good.

Duck I fully agree with you that Gane is the best hw striker ever but you can't possibly say that Francis is "just as good or arguably better" than Fedor. that's ridiculous. neither are Izzy and Usman better than GSP and Silva

Taha vs. Quiñonez
Cristian Quiñonez, DEC
Tahari is all power low volume. Christian will be nervous and cautious rd 1. Survive takedowns and win rd 2 and 3 with strikes.
Perez vs. Egger
Stephanie Egger, DEC
Both deliver mount and hellbows. Whomever gets top control. Stand-up favors Perez. Egger has kicks and elbows and trips but fists don't land
Gomis vs. Errens
William Gomis, DEC
Gane Jr. Mui Tai Kicks and clinch. Late takedowns and gnp. .

@
el222 I think so too. Jordan without being mitigated by hand-checking probably just runs totally riot.

Gane is 32.. if he is on the path to greatness he better get there quick, comparing him to Michael Jordan is asinine.
Tai is 29 and has improved alot since his last loss to Spivak when he was 26 years old.

As you know Fish, I'm from the home of Lebron James. So I've been in the Jordan argument probably more than anyone alive haha. Jordan had a killer instinct when it mattered the most that Lebron will never have. Jordan also had a stacked roster and Lebron drug a team full of bums to the finals most years but thats for a different argument haha

@Hideff Lebron couldn't have been Lebron in the 90's, but Jordan would still be Jordan in today's league. That's pretty much how I think of that debate!
And yes, definitely. One big difference is that Jordan really, really, really cared about winning. Extremely fierce competition. Lebron just doesn't have that mongrel in him.

Lebron won in 2012 and 2013 with the help of Wade, Bosh and Ray Allen.. lets not act like they are bums
2016 he had Kyrie Irving and 2020 he had Anthony Davis
so every year Lebron won a title he had a sidekick just like Jordan did.

Another thing is that Lebron's Eastern Conference has been pretty weak for most of his career so it's been easier for him to make the finals than it would have been for Jordan and co. to get through the Pistons, 90s Knicks, later 80s Celtics. If Lebron had spent more of his career in the Western Conference the Spurs, Lakers, and Warriors would have **** blocked him every year.

thanks for making my point lol I said most of the years he drug bums there. Look at the 07 Cavs roster. Larry Hughes was the next best player lmao you may have to google him. Boobie gibson and Eric Snow. come on now.
He had to leave Cleveland to get help.
Jordan had a fella named Pippen lmao who was top 5 mvp votes in 95-96 lol Not to mention the Bulls just went and got any player that ever slowed them down. Rodman slows em down they go get him. Harper one of the better defenders in the league. Bulls go get him the next year. in 94 with No Jordan they went 55-27 and made it to the eastern conf Semi's lmao Lebrons teams had 17 wins once he was gone. Its no where near the same.
