Whittaker vs. Vettori
Marvin Vettori, SUB, R2
On paper, Vettori is bigger, faster, stronger.  Still want Rob to win, though.

Makdessi vs. Haqparast
John Makdessi, DEC
John Make Dess Easy.  Not really.  I think he'll just edge Haqparast out on points.

Ziam vs. Figlak
Fares Ziam, DEC
Really impressed by his win over Jamie Mullarkey.

Perez vs. Egger
Ailin Perez, TKO, R2
Lookout, Egger, Perez TKOs ladies!

Jourdain vs. Wood
Nathaniel Wood, DEC
They're almost even on the feet, but I think Wood has the grappling edge.  The bookies and Tapology seem to disagree.  We will see.

Is it premuture to say Gane is the best striker in heavyweight history because I do think he is,Tai is a good striker, but beating Gane in a kickboxing fight is like beating Jordan in 1v1 basketball

It ain’t happening

@TheUltimate Not random. :-/  (I would argue that no human behavior is random.)

@Lisac In this world, according to the UFC stats page for the event, Vettori lands 2.0 significant strikes per minute to Whittaker's 1.9.  Probably not a significant difference, but a true statement, nonetheless.

That means he throws more volume, not that he has faster hands or better footwork, both of which are inferior to Whittaker's. Bigger - yeah, stronger - probably, faster? Definitely not.

Nate Diaz probably had a higher sig. strike rate then McGregor when they fought yet he was clearly the slower fighter, same goes for Max and Volk.

You're mixing volume, which is how OFTEN a strike is thrown to speed, how FAST a strike is thrown. Also, Whittaker is known for his in and out movements and Marvin just plods ahead very flat footed.

Vettori
Whittaker is clearly the better fighter but have a sneaky suspicion Vettori's power will overwhelm him.

Tai
Again I think Gane is overall the better fighter but just not a fan of his style. For someone with his strength and speed he puts on boring fights. If Tai can catch him in the first or second round I like his chances. The longer the fight goes plays into Gane's favor and he's got the home crowd behind him. But think both dogs are live in the main and co main. Shoeys all around.

There is a very good chance that Tai catches Gane.

He is fast, technical with his brawling, has good IQ and uses nice combinations and leg kicks.

Gane does not have the power to stop him with one puch early, his KOs are usually accumulation of damage. So he may not be able to keep Tai off him early on and if Tai pins him against the cage it could be over fast.

Gane is not a lock.

Tuivasa's last 5 wins:

Stefan Struve (washed)
Harry Hunsucker (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)
Greg Hardy (beats up women, not men)
Augusto Sakai (punching bag unfortunately)
Derrick Lewis (legit, but Tai nearly got KO'D)

Gane's last 5 wins:

Taner Boser (meh)
Junior dos Santos (washed, but a big name)
Jairzinho Rozenstruik (legit)
Alexander Volkov (legit)
Derrick Lewis (domination)

Make of this information what you will. If you pick Tuivasa I'm not gonna make fun of you, but I do strongly believe that Gane is the lock of the card.

I  just watched a youtube video of Ailin Perez' one loss (by DQ) on her record against Tamires Vidal. This is one of the funniest fights I've watched in a long time.

First Perez is stood up from a dominant position in top control when she punches Vidal repeatedly to the back of the head. The ref warns her but does not take a point. She is then warned again after kneeing her opponent hard right to the crotch a couple of times in the clinch. Once again no point deduction.
The third incident is her temporarilly pressing her foot into her opponents throat when trying to scramble out of a leglock attempt. Again nothing comes of it, not even a caution from the ref.
Finally she is DQd in the third round as she repeatedly knees Vidal in the head with the latter kneeling on one leg and with her arms to the floor.
Throughout it all she has a baffled idindunothing demeanor to where she seems affronted and confused whenever the ref steps in.

Well worth a watch:

Maybe it's just me but Whittaker's body appeared fragile since the Romero fights, while Vettori is one of the most resilient fighters at 185. Still, I don't see Marvin having the power to KO Rob so this one is probably gonna end in a decsion win for Whittaker.

I could definitely see Vettori/Whittaker being oddly competitive but Whittaker should still win. Vettori just doesn't have a ton of diversity in his game. He's a very smart but predictable fighter. Typically when two fairly well rounded fighters meet, the faster fighter with better foot work wins.

Idk about getting styled on, but I'd say it's likely Vettori is ultimately out-pointed. Feel like this fight should be 5 rounds.
