Yair is gonna win by knockout. This is a terrible fight for Brian
Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 455 Points | Tied for 701st
Against Korean Zombie he was in the worst shape a fighter could be, it was 10% Yair if much: He was in an unstable mental state due to losing family members for that fight (2 of them due to stomach cancer), he was sick and had severe stomach aches that had him hospitalized 1 week before the fight thinking he was gonna die too due to his family genetic proneness, he took a 5-round fight at altitude on 9 days notice. You can say Chang was gonna win 48-47, but he didn't because Yair still managed to finish the fight, because he's an inhumanly tough being, just like Tony Ferguson
And against Max, being 2 years away due to several injuries, and fighting a prime Max Holloway (imo the GOAT of 145 in the ufc) that had just demolished Calvin Kattar with ease and arguably beat Volkanovski before that. And those were 2 very tough years off for Yair (serious injuries and also lost 5 family members due to covid that screwed him up mentally and didn't let him even focus on his career), even though we know Mexican fighters usually come back better than ever after they take many years/months off and even with injuries (similar to what saiyans do, for anyone who is a dbz fan)... I mean, we saw guys like Dominick Cruz or Cain Velasquez, knockout a top 5 guy in the 1st round, after being a couple years away of the game; we saw Brandon Moreno come back and dominate after long layoff and came back better than ever to make his undefeated run to the UFC belt; Alexa Grasso after long lay off, come back and make an undefeated run to the title at flyweight and dominate all opponents; Brian Ortega dominate a top 5 guy in Korean Zombie, after being a couple years off; Irwin Rivera after many months imprisoned, diagnosed with a rare mental sickness, going through hell and without training, coming back to Eagle FC and looking better than ever and more improved.... just to name few examples that prove what i said
With all that said, people also forget that Brian Ortega is one of the best strikers in the ufc period. He had a competitive fight with the best pfp fighter in Volkanovski, dropped him in the 3rd round and almost finishes him, Alexander survived miraculously. Since Max dominated him, Brian has been fighting with very good fight iq, and proved he's championship caliber fighter
So this is gonna be a war, for at least 2 rounds, then Yair will put him away or pick him apart. Biasedly, i personally want Brian to submit Yair in the first round, so these guys don't take more damage that they've already taken already, which is ridiculous amount of damage and clean strikes to the brain, so i'm rooting for that. But the reality is other, and Brian is gonna face the most underrated fighter in the whole ufc, and one of the best strikers in mma history (arguably the most talented striker currently in mma)

Ortega does have power in his strikes. I remember being shocked when he KO'd Edgar. I believe he was the first to KO Frankie.

Watching their highlights has me bouncing back and fourth
I'm with you on biasedly wanting Ortega to pull off a sub and the two of them take minimal damage but I don't know.. They're gonna bust one another up
