@AyyLmaonniase good write ups dude. Id of enjoyed breaking fights down with ya and a few others when I still did that. Now a days I hardly look at the whole cards before the moment I’m making picks and just wing it  I haven’t watched tape for picks in a decade. Hahaha.

Anywho, that’s all off topic. To the point, short story long, as far as the Hardy fight, for me, it’s not that I ever write Hardy off cause I dont like him, it’s that if it’s at all close I don’t pick him because I don’t like him. That way I can truly cheer against him and put aside my own vanity or whatever, in regards for my desire to be right. Id rather get it wrong at times going against him. Lol. Off the top of my head Hardy is the explosive power athlete that can give Spivak a lot of trouble, especially early.

@louden hahaha thank you! Yeah for the hardy fight idek why I’m picking him but I was just swayed watching his 2 most recent fights. He did piece up tybura in the first and hurt tuivasa bad. I can’t help but think if he lands those shots against spivak then he goes to sleep. He won’t have to worry about the striking but he has to worry about the wrestling of spivak. Hardy might be able to defend in the first, especially because spivak is 240 compared to Greg being 295 or bigger with hydration

Definitely. He’s exactly what Spivak struggles with early. Powerful athleticism  I think Spivak hard to avoid the fight and let Hardy wear down, keeping his range early if he wants to win. If he initiates too much contact early he’s going down. Didn’t he get blasted by Harris early?  Could go similar to that.

Also, Im a Philadelphia guy so more reason to hate the former Cowboy.

in both the harris and aspinall fights, when he started getting tagged he just turtled up and fell over. He was way more mobile in the tuivasa fight. But then again as soon as the fight hits the ground hardy is done.

I'm looking at Hardy resume and the guys that he cliped was all lowest level of the UFC. I'm not sure if he hit hard enought to finish Spivac even if he conect early.

Spivak is not reckless, quite the opposite. He's said in the prefight interview he will respect Hardy's power and I believe him.

He literally almost ko’ed tai tuivasa. We saw how good his chin is so to see him crack someone like tai tells you how hard he hits

@louden can’t argue with that reasoning lol!

Yes @gliese the pre fight interviews are very accurate just like when Jessica Rose Clark said she'd stand with Stephanie Egger then came in clinched her up within the first 10 seconds right? Of course he knows a pro bowl nfl DE has power.

AyyLmaonnaise Greg Hardy is likely not beating Spivak. Spivak moved to Vegas and has been training at XC and was training with Ngannou in preparation for the Gane fight.

You can say "Hardy just lost to Tai and now look at Tai... Hardy just lost to Tybura, look at Tybura" and i respect that... but i'll say " Spivak just lost to Aspinall who is better than everyone in the conversation". Hardy 20 lbs weight adv will only help him in round 1, after that he will be gassed and taken down

Lastly, Tai is hurt in damn near every fight. I think Hardy has B level HW power which is why he's not top level. If he had A1 power he would've at least finished Tybura in that 1st round... instead he had to overexert himself and gassed out

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 9 of 13 Winners, 4 Perfect, 605 Points   |   Tied for 1058th

Covington vs. Masvidal
Colby Covington, DEC
Replay of Usman vs Masvisal 1?

dos Anjos vs. Moicano
Rafael dos Anjos, DEC
Mociano has looked good since stepping up to LW but RDA is a different beast.

Barboza vs. Mitchell
Edson Barboza, TKO, R2
It might be a replay of Barbozas lost against Khabib but I will bet with the heart that Barboza gets another highlight reel KO.

Holland vs. Oliveira
Kevin Holland, DEC
Excited for this one. Holland edges a real war, FOTN?

Spivak vs. Hardy
Sergey Spivak, TKO, R2
Spivak will wrestle and gnp Hardy to an astma attack TKO.

Turner vs. Mullarkey
Jalin Turner, TKO, R1
Think Turners reach will be the difference and open up for the KO.

Rodriguez vs. Yan
Marina Rodriguez, DEC
Rodriguez is better than Yan everywhere.

Negumereanu vs. Nzechukwu
Nick Negumereanu, SUB, R1
Not impressed by either here. Both got power but Nicky has the wrestling and has not got KOd yet. Leaning on that.

Nurmagomedov vs. Kelleher
Umar Nurmagomedov, SUB, R1
Umar with majority of wins by sub and last time took out Morozov. Kelleher got some subs to his name as well but that wont help this time.

Elliott vs. Ulanbekov
Tagir Ulanbekov, DEC
Elliot is a good scrambly grappler that can be fun to watch but these Russian dudes aint no joke.

Klein vs. Smith
Ľudovít Klein, TKO, R1
Who connects first? Want to see the headkick from Klein.

Jacoby vs. Oleksiejczuk
Michał Oleksiejczuk, TKO, R2
Good striking battle to open up the card. Rooting for the legendary polish power. Left hook to the liver.

@plusmoney that’s a good point, but I respectfully disagree. He honestly looked very good against tybura in the first round, not so much oh he lost to a good ranked guy; he was piecing him up and defended a takedown. You are right about the weight tho. It’s going to be beneficial in the first and a detriment afterwards. I think it all depends on how spivak approaches the fight. Against tuivasa, he spammed takedowns but against Felipe, he didn’t attempt a takedown until the second round. I think it’s a toss up in the first and spivak all day in rounds 2 and 3. Also you just can’t train a chin, spivak doesn’t like getting hit hard so if Greg lands cleanly, spivak will be in trouble

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Spivak is a smaller HW and doesn’t cut weight anyways where Greg walks around at 310

That’s why Spivak has to avoid big contact and exchanges early. He’s gotta let him gas out a bit IMO. Swing big miss big makes you ******* tired, especially with all that mass.

I don't always believe interviews, but I believe Spivak on this occasion. It matches his approach in earlier fights.

i can see that fight going a few ways.
- greg plays counter striker and waits for the  single leg  from spivak and gasses out rd 2 losses a majority dec
- spivak  wins by sub ( neck crank  or kimura) late rd 2
-greg TKO spivak  late in rd 1
- greg re injures his hand and loses via doctor stoppage
