Since the Weidman and Rockhold downfall, the 185-pound class is lacking in dominant wrestlers (as opposed to welterweights). In a division with many fighters, I would only name as outstanding wrestlers Vettori, Hermansson, Brunson, (who is close to retiring), Muniz (who stands out more for his BJJ than for his wrestling) and Bobby Knuckles who is mostly a striker (Gastelum, Hawes has a good wrestling base but they are mostly striking).
Pereira is showing improvement in each of his fights, I think he should go little and not fight so soon against a ranked, but what I am sure is that Pereira has the skills to break through and at some point enter the top 15 of the division.
