Something interesting I noticed about Kay Hansen is she’s coming up a weight class and has a 5 inch disadvantage in both measureables. I think she’s gonna win but gives me some pause for sure

I thought the same thing about Hansen, but I don’t think the reach advantage will matter because Jasmine seems to not maintain her distance with constant jabs and evasion. If anything I anticipate Jasmine closing the gap attempting to wrestle, nullifying her own reach advantage. Also, re-watching her contender fight (again with a reach advantage) her striking was horrendous

I might pick Turman for trolling purposes but yes, I agree, he is garbage. Nobody who has gone to decision with sam alvey in the last three years should inspire confidence in anybody. However, I think he's about the same level as Stoltzfus striking-wise ( who was beating Viera on the feet) but he has stronger anti-wrestling and choke defence. Vieira should absolutely be the favourite and will probably win, but he's not worth his line price.

Ya jasmines striking is terrible. The technique isn’t there and she is so tremendously hittable. I noticed that while she has good wrestling she got reversed multiple times by Elise reed (who is a very small SW) so her top control really isn’t that great. Kay is a nasty grappler and also has good tdd. I know she’s only faced 1 td attempt in the ufc so her 100% tdd is inflated but watching her other tape it’s pretty legit; Erin blanchfield had to really work to take her down and even then it was a really close fight. Hansen also may have a terrible record in it, but she has pro boxing experience and looking at her ig it seems that it’s getting better. Not to mention she’s also a decade younger lol. I’m a little worried about the size advantage and the layoff but after seeing jasmine get reversed by someone who should be at 105 I’m not too worried. Also Kay Hansen looks massive (not fat but she looks like she’s put on a ton of muscle) so maybe she won’t be small at 125

Baldric I was kind of feeling the same way about that. Viera should be better in every way but I’ve noticed the commentary team has said in all of his fights that he is terrified of losing. He’s said he gets very anxious before every fight and I think that mental block holds him back. I agree that while Turmans striking is dog****, aside from vieras jab he should win on the feet. Then again, his fight iq sucks so maybe he thinks he can out bjj viera so who knows

I will say that Turman's last fight was easily the best version of him I've seen so far, but I'd have to say the same exact thing about Vieira.

I don't remember Vieira struggling much in that fight. I'd have to re-watch, maybe he started slow. He eventually literally jabbed Stoltzfus to death, which I still consider very impressive.

Turman's best chance is to definitely keep this standing but he's eventually getting subbed, especially if Vieira has continued to work on his striking. He looked markedly better in that department in his last fight.

I would also have to re-watch, but if I remember correctly Turman sort of quit against Alvey and only won because Alvey lost a point (might have been 2 actually).

Yeah I would say you need to rewatch both fights. It wasn’t like viera got dominated in the striking, he definitely held his own, but he was clearly down 2 rounds going into the third.

As for turman, it was actually turman who lost 2 points in one round because he kept eye poking alvey. Alvey is **** enough that turman was able to win every round but the score was 28-27 because of the egregious fouls

Topouria being -500 to -600 is so ********. Dude fought a broken handed Ryan Hall, Damon Jackson, and no longer in ufc Youseff Zalal. Iirc in those fights he was about -200, -300, and +145 respectively. Now he's -600 against someone considerably better than those 3. Because his ground game is leaps and bounds better?  He's shown his wrestling in 1 fight against zalal, who had moments on the ground of his own. And yeah it's short notice but it's not that short of notice, Jourdain has had at least 2 weeks.

The story of that fight was Vieira standing behind his jab and ultimately getting a finish. Whether he was down or not leading up to that doesn't really matter honestly. He's supposed to be a submission specialist.

And yes, you are correct. I had that backwards. Doesn't really change my initial point that Turman sucks. If you need to eye poke Sam Alvey twice just to beat him by decision your not winning any big fights anytime soon.

Jourdain has done nothing to show he's "leaps and bounds" better than any of those guys. Jourdain vs. Jackson is actually a great fight.

He absolutely should be a huge dog against Topuria with it being on short notice and I say this as someone that actually likes Jourdain. His knock down rate is insane. His stock jumps considerably if he wins this fight but he pretty much has no shot outside of landing an insanely lucky bomb.

Topuria, IMO, is what everyone thinks Giga is/was before last weekend. That dude is nasty.

Well yes you are true on both accounts but the thing viera is lacking is confidence. He has stated multiple times he is terrified of fighting. Not the fight itself but the thought of losing is literally unbearable to him. I’m worried he will underperform or not go to what he’s good at especially because of his placement on the card. He’s the last fight before the ppv and that means everyone is going to start coming in so he’s going to have a lot of eyes on him. Also it is definitely important that he was down because what if he does the same thing again? His bjj is phenomenal and Turmans sucks but it’s not like we can rely on him to lose two rounds and then go to his grappling and win everytime. Finally, yes turman is completely dog**** but he was winning every round of that fight. Even “won” the third hence why the third round wasn’t a 10-7. He sucks but he did win all three rounds against alvey

Yeah jourdains tdd is ******* absymal so that’s why he’s not beating topuria this week. I don’t even think a full camp would help. He’s one of my fav fighters to watch but the grappling will make a difference here. I think he’s honestly the better striker but topuria can hang with him

I said topouria hasn't shown enough wrestling for me to think he's leaps and bounds over jourdain. I didn't say jourdian was leaps and bounds above his former competition. I said he was considerably better than them. Which he is. Which of those three is better than jourdain? Other than a sneaky sub from hall jourdain is winning 90% of those fights.

Last time I'm going to talk about Turman because, again, he's really bad, but saying "he would have won 30-27" is incorrect. You are literally pretending poking a fighter in the eye does absolutely nothing. One eye poke alone could destroy a fighter and get him finished. Two eye pokes without question compromises your ability to fight. No, I'm not going to go back and re-watch this awful fight. It doesn't even matter if both eye pokes were in the same round. Turman isn't good. The end.

As for Vieira, I don't read that deep into his performance psychology. You reference his issues with confidence as we're talking about a fight where he literally stood confidently behind his jab despite arguably being down in the fight and getting a finish. What more do you want from the guy? Any of these fighters could crack mentally at any given time and blow a fight despite being more skilled and/or in better shape than their opponent. I wouldn't focus on his past comments to much.
