Francis N'Gannou vs. Ciryl Gane
Ngannou, KO/TKO R1-2.
It's incredible to me that the majority think that a pretty meat n' potatoes kickboxer is going to survive ngannou, who fights out of a Boxing stance which is perfect to counter Muay Thaiand who hurls death at lightspeed from every angle and dimension in a metatron cube. He's literally destroyed every single fighter who fits that description effortlessly every time.
5/5 of his last wins have come by KO. 4/5 have been in the first round. Those scalps include Miocic, the heavyweight with probably the best MMA-adapted Boxing in UFC, and Rozenstruik--who incidentally isn't much different than Gane stylistically anyway.
He has never been KO'ed, has lost by decision three times (one being by wrestle******y, the other being inactivity, the other in the infancy of his career) and looks better every time he gets in the cage.
Anyway, I hope the majority delusion continues because I intend to bet the absolute Bejeesus out of him. But it is puzzling. I think this wise Guru, in this 30 second clip, makes an excellent point about Democracy--which is what Tapology is after a fashion (a majority vote) which is pertinent here, and provides an elegant and succinct explanation as to why 60% of the Tap community is picking Gane.
