They mean the same they always have. I'll say it again; control can only enter the judges consideration if no fighter displayed an advantage in the primary or secondary criterions. And this only happens rarely.

Takedowns are a form of offense. Saying a takedown doesn’t matter is like saying Weili Zhang had no significant strikes against Joanna because Joanna didn’t go to sleep. Sleeping on someone doesn’t give any points, but dragging them to the ground against there will is a form of offensive domination.

I mean you’re right Fish. If you’re taking a nap in side mount that doesn’t generate any points. But a takedown isn’t control, it’s an offensive action. I think people are taking what you say to mean that a takedown doesn’t score.

Because you can't copy/paste one paragraph of a six paragraph breakdown of situation criteria. And the word effective emphasizes almost every point. If Gamrot (or Mullarkey) is scoring takedowns and controlling majority of a round, it would suggest that there wasn't a significant enough advantage in effective striking when the other fighter was on their feet for 30 seconds. You can't simply dismiss ground control. And the judges often don't. Which makes it weird and noteworthy when they do.

@Tieoken they're still trumped by immediate and cumulative damage. This is because it harder to determine how much of an impact they have on drawing a fight to concluding compared to striking. I'm not saying it's idal, but it's what we've got.

I didn't watch the Mularkky fight but looking at fight metic it look like he got robbeb, he had over 8 minute of control and I'm suprise he lost that, Someone plese explane who watch that fight plese because I know stats aint everthing
