Daniel Cormier, DEC
Cormier won the first fight by first round KO, and dominated the majority of the second fight standing, before getting hurt to the body. If he fights smart, he mixes his boxing with some takedowns for a nice win.

Not saying they’re similar, but some of the stuff he does reminds me of Johnny Walker. And look what happened to him when he fought better competition.
Not sure who I’m taking here, but I may be in the minority who takes Chito.

I agree. Chito Vera is Suga Sean's toughest test and Sean O'Malley will experience a prospect loss. My only concern is the first round. Chito Vera is a habitual slow starter and Sean could easily knock him out in the first round. After the first round, Chito is going to drag Sean into deep waters and get the finish.

Thats REALLY interesting you say that... regarding O'Malleys first "prospect loss".... I'll definitly keep an eye on this one.... Sugars got such an ability to work his range and kep his feet moving ... I just dont know here bud... tuff one..very for me... I guess tbh Im not "all in" on the kid yet tho..as its like you say... hes moving up in talent now.. not a tremendous bunch.. I dont think Chito's top 5 or anything... but he is a tuff fighter...

Expect rainbow hair to get a decision but I hope Vera derails the train viciously.
Ankalaev vs. Cutelaba II
Magomed Ankalaev, DEC
Kevin McClown really ****** that one up.
dos Santos vs. Rozenstruik
Junior dos Santos, DEC
JDS looking juicy on IG. I believe this is a good matchup for JDS, better all around, if he didn't get destroyed by Francis and Blaydes, I imagine he'd be opening a favorite. Gonna be Overeem vs Jair but Jair doesn't get the finish with 5 seconds left. Jair fought Francis only 90 days ago. Won't be surprised if JDS knocks him out. More time should be taken off.

Cormier grinds out the decision by sticking to the wrestling heavy game plan. Discipline and boring grinding style win DC the fight.

I have a lot to say about this fight. too much really. I like the odds if I'm being honest, but I refuse to bet this fight. To me this fight is truly MMA history. I'll pay for and enjoy paying for this fight and watch it purely as a fan.
O'Malley vs. Vera
Sean O'Malley, TKO, R2
Now this has been the fight I have enjoyed doing fight tape on the most out of any in recent memory. I am really happy Dan Hardy put out his breakdown before I got a chance to write this because it saves me a lot of time. I'd recommend watching it if you plan on betting either of these fighters. Now, I am notorious for picking dogs, I love it. It has made me a lot of money. And I honestly can't believe I passed up Chito at 3:1 odds, like part of me feels sick doing it. But if you watch Hardy's breakdown he'll point out a lot of the things I see, with two exceptions. I have watched an extensive amount of O'malley's (available) grappling footage, and it's high level. Plus he can go for long periods of time in grappling exchanges and retain his defensive cognizance. So, despite being untested in the Octagon on the ground I feel that Chito's biggest advantage might be less of one than I initially thought. The second point that Dan Hardy didn't touch on, which surprised me, is that Marlon Vera has some of the worst punch recycling in later rounds that I've seen from a high level fighter. And that just won't fly with O'malley at long distance strike range. O'malley has that brash confidence where he doesn't hesitate to fire while under fire. And he laser beams shots down the pipe, by the time Vera's fist make the circle back to his face I think O'malley will have already put him to sleep once he gets used to the awkward forward-marching pace of Vera. Super excited for this fight.
dos Santos vs. Rozenstruik
Jairzinho Rozenstruik, TKO, R1
Dos Santos has been putting in that S&C work recently. Glad to see it too, but I just think it's too little too late. Dos Santos will come into this fight looking in the best shape of his life, I have no doubt, but it's the wrong fighter to take that approach. I would completely agree with JDS's logic in other bouts. He has the skill and he should focus more on his atheltic ability: cardio, power, and speed. But heres the thing, he doesn't have the skill advantage in this fight, at least on the feet that is. Rozenstruik, despite that humiliating loss to Ngannou, is the highest level of striker at Heavyweight. By the way for anyone who doesn't realize how horrible that Ngannou loss is, go back and watch the whole 20 seconds in slow motion, I've coached 5 year olds with better punching technique than Ngannou displays lol. But the thing is, you can tell Rozenstruik got taken by the fear factor. Nice guy JDS won't scare Rozenstruik, and he'll get finished eventually. Unless we see some anomaly of a ground game from him.
Dodson vs. Dvalishvili
John Dodson, DEC
Finally! A good dog to pick on this card which is just awful to bet. I laid some cheddar on the magician here. Merab's best moment of his career was ruining Raufeon's shot into the UFC. After that he has been the boring, slightly gas prone fighter that I always thought he was. High level, but just barely top 10 on his best days. I mean Nathanial Wood is a much busier ground fighter than Merab and he landed what, one? maybe two? sig strikes on Dodson before he got back up. The fact of the matter is, Dodson will present all of the problems Ricky Simon gave Dvalishvili, but with more power. I understand Dodson is a bit smaller, but I don't think the size discrepancy is enough to counteract both the experience and skill advantage that Dodson possesses on the feet.
Ankalaev vs. Cutelaba II
Ion Cutelaba, TKO, R1
These odds are way too good to pass up. I mean Cutelaba has way more finishing potential than Ankalaev. While I doubt anyone sees a decision going to Cutelaba, I can see him being pissed off enough from the BS from the last fight to try and take Ankalaev's head clean of in round one, and he's definitely capable of it. I get that Ankalaev has some shine because of those two headkick KOs, which lets be honest Dalcha would have fallen over if you asked him to do a burpee and Prachnio (0-2 Rd 1 KOs in the UFC) was already rocked from being a bad fighter. I know i'm really taking a dump on Ankalaev, but I'm not trying to. He should be the favorite, because about 70% of the time he gasses Cutelaba out and grind a decision with his ****** 30% TDAcc rate . But if you ask me to choose between cardio and power, I'll choose power at plus money almost every time.
Miller vs. Pichel
Jim Miller, SUB, R2
My funnest fight of the night. I'll crack open a beer and be happy for whoever wins.
Burns vs. Pineda
Herbert Burns, SUB, R1
Man, this is everything I saw in Beneil Dariush vs. Scott Holtzman but with less emphasis on the striking and more emphasis on the Jiu Jitsu. Seeing Minner absolutely mollycobble Burns for basically 99% of their contender fight makes me nervous, because Pineda is a fast starter like that too. But Pineda just can't hang with the level of competition that it takes to succeed in the UFC. He's proven that time and time again, both in the UFC and on the regional scene. This is a lock and I bet it heavy at 1.43, I'll also be excited to see what the props are for this fight.
