What was the time span between Jim getting rocked to him choking Clay out? Like 10 seconds? Good lord what a finish. I have a soft spot for both Jim + Clay for both fighting like, 3 whole different generations of fighters and still hanging in there strong.

You can tell that Herb Dean has been affected by the weird stoppage with Askren/Lawler.

You can also see why Robbie was so quick to forgive Herb after the stoppage. Robbie could have easily ended up like one of these poor fellas.

Even though Jim got an awesome finish this fight, I find it hard to pinpoint whats next for him that makes sense??? More fights w/ UFC vets? Actually give him fights that will have him climb the rankings if he wins? Gatekeeper? I'm down with anything honestly, keep giving this guy fights until he can't do it anymore.

Ok Herb does have an inconsistent history but there's reasonable explanations for both of tonight's: Guida was wrapped up tight with nowhere for his arms or any other body part to go limp and Giles tapped really quickly before Herb could see it. And both guys are known for at least having respectable sub d.
