28-27 Maia; I think Martin was too worried about the takedown and that’s why his volume was so low.

Props to Maia pickers.. I guess. Pretty pathetic performance honestly. Rocco came to fight, Maia came to sit in Roccos lap. 1 significant strike LOL....
Rocco is to blame though. Went for 2 different chokes instead of landing GNP or standing up.

Maia took him down, mounted him and landed at will. Who fault is it that he couldn't stop it?

@
freemoneyforall GSP maybe sort of did that leg lace move a couple of times before, but he never used it as the central focus of his ground attack in the way that Khabib popularized.

lets be real @Brad
Damage & aggression went to Rocco. Maia is a Velcro-covered pillow. Time control, that's it. Backpeddled then laced..aka the Dagestani Padlock...whoop deedoo

I Hear you Bruce but think of a wrestling match. In those first two rounds , strikes or not, Maia tried to advance and not just control. It of been Rocco getting the stall calls from bottom. He fished out and fence stalled to not get strangled. Round 3 yea, Maia stalled his balls off

Alias, I agree GSP’s style holding guys down was sort of a prelude to what Khabib does. Good call.

I can remember Jake Shields figure fouring the legs from the top against the fence a couple of times too back in the day. I think against Mike Pyle... Khabib has done it different though.

Shields definitely had a wicked but wicked boringly effective leg lace. Pyle and Mayhem jump right out at me.

10-9 Benavidez. At least one ******** judge will score the blood though.

Joey B looked great in the first half of that round. Then as the blood effected him the round became pretty even.
I'll still call in 10-9 Benavidez, but it's close.
