Any word on Augusto Montano? I think it's safe to assume he will 100% be making his debut on this card, and I really look forward to it. Any news on who he's going to fight?

Saw the official report saying he would be on the card, but against the infamous TBA.

However I still feel a little let down with official announcement.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this card.

I had a discussion with a friend and a member of the Mexican MMA media over the weekend about the lack of quality of this card in terms of talent and not being 'stacked', especially with the UFC filling the card and prelims with local talent that we used to watch here for $10 in local shows and are not UFC-level fighters. They argued that it was great and this is the way it should be done.

There are only 7 fights officially announced, the rest of the 3-4 fights that are missing will be TUF Latin America matches with the guys that were eliminated from the show.

We all know this is how the UFC operates as of late, but when Dana said 'we're going to mexico with a bang', I expected something different/better than the usual watered down cards.

I do think it is a fun card, the Lauzon-Sanchez should be fun, but definitely the card is not a 'bang' or anything special, especially for a PPV that is opening a new market such as Mexico.

So, what do you think? Do you think this card is stacked?

I actually think this card is awesome.

Can't wait for Cain/Werdum, Ellenburger is always awesome, Lauzon vs Sanchez is great and Lamas vs Bermudez should be sick too.

Personally, I'm only interested in the top three fights, but I do find them pretty interesting. Less excited for Ellenberger/Gastelum but yeah. But for a Mexican fan, I can definitely see how this card would really psych them up. I think the top four fights all have potential to be wars and it has the heavyweight title fight, which is the crown jewel of title fights for viewers and $. Plus they're gonna lose their ******* minds when Cain tkos Werdum in the late rounds haha.

@slam I'm with you on that, The main card is pretty good. I guess I'm just not pleased that half the card is TUF fillers that we're used to watching here but now re-branded as UFC.

That's usually whats to be expected with these TUF finale cards. I don't really mind. The title fight is intriguing enough to keep my interest for this card.

This card was 100% Cain.  Not having the "Mexican" heavyweight champion just wrecks it. It would have been so cool.

I remember being at the local Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Lesnar-Velasquez fight.  There were a few large tables occupied by Hispanic families (probably of Mexican origin, since that is the overwhelming proportion of the Hispanic community in my area).  They paid little to no attention to the fights until the Velasquez fight.  When Cain won, they went freaking insane.

Just an anecdotal observation, and the presence of other Mexican fighters on the card may make some difference, but without Velasquez, the Mexican-American who is heavyweight champ, my guess is the event won't be a big success.  It might sell enough to make money, but with Cain it probably would have been huge.
