Seriously, why is there so much talk about fighters in higher weight classes defeating fighters in lower weight classes? That isn't much of an indicator of their supremacy, there are weight classes for a very good reason. And no, I am not ignoring that fighters move through weight classes, but it's silly IMHO to talk about fighters that have never fought in a weight class defeating champions in that weight class. But still not as silly as talking about Chael "The Showman" Sonnen defeating any champion, whether on illegal steroids or legal TRT.

When BJ was dominating the LW division and moved to 170 to fight Hughes he hadn't faught above LW in years. He knocked Hughes out. 10 lbs, especially when your going down in weight isn't impossible to overcome for the best fighters. The reason you her s much about it now is because the UFC has 5 weight classes with dominat champions. I don't see anyone In their natural weight lass beating Aldo, Henderson, GSP, Silva or Jones. I do think bigger men in other weight classes offer more even fights to those fighters.

1. Frankie Edgar can defeat Jose Aldo

2. John Dodson can defeat Mighty Mouse

3. Daniel Cormier can defeat Jon Jones

4. Alistair Overeem could defeat Cain Velasquez

5. Gray Maynard could defeat Benson Henderson

My picks call to mind the lyrics of a 1952 Fred Astaire song.

Meets an immovable object such as you,
You know as sure as you live,
Something's gotta give, something's gotta give, something's gotta give.

Is everyone on he TJ Grant train now? I was very impressed. That being said Pettis couldn't finish Bendo so Grant lands at 6th place on likely future champ.

I'm on the TJ train but only because I'm not a big fan of Henderson. That being said Henderson probably wins another close decision.

I see Renan Barao as the current bantamweight champion anyway. A rusty Dominick Cruz doesn't have much of a chance against Barao.. if he wasn't on a 1 1/2 - 2 year layoff.. then he would have a better chance, but not right now.

Barao wouldn't even be on my top 10. Why? Because as far as I'm concerned he is the world champion right now, not interim.

That's why you have a chance to make your own list. Then the consensus can show what he Tapology community thinks.

U think McMann has a better shot than Tate?

Absolutely. I give Tate little-no chance against Ronda. Keep in mind, Tate is my favorite WMMA fighter .. right after the Karate Hottie <3. It's an undeserved rematch and not that compelling. The McMann fight would be Olympian vs Olympian and 2 legit pros at their craft .. which both happen to be a different form of grappling.

I completely agree. Tate just gets first dibs and has a hype train following her because she is very good looking. More interested in Rousey McMann
