Bo Nickal isn’t a bad striker from what I see from him, and he 100% has power in his hands, he slept a few other fighter, need more context then a fight that went 30 seconds to judge him

Also, wrestler drop striker because of fear of takedown, Khabib vs Conor, Cro Cop vs Raddleman being best example

Bo has a ton of power and knows how to throw a punch well but he needs to work on his overall striking game & most importantly his footwork; the way he was moving in and out against Woodburn is not going to work against any striker worth their name. Luckily for him, he very much possesses one punch ko power so that should help him, same with the takedown threat. But, he still has a long way to go, could definitely see him getting slept bad in the future if he doesn’t make the right improvements

I will be picking Volk and want to say that 49% of tapology are picking ilia when I post this comment. That's insane. 🤣

We are talking about the GOAT of the featherweight division:
  • The guy that has only lost to a lightweight fighter that everyone says will surpass khabib achievements in time and become the lightweight goat eventually.
  • The guy that made the first fight against such lightweight fighter competitive and lost the second fight in short notice.
  • The guy that takes top level fighters like Holloway and Yair to school and makes them look easy inside the cage.

I remember clear as day that the conversation in the fans was not to make ilia fight Holloway because volk needed opponents to fight in the featherweight division and we did not want to see another contender get smashed in the Holloway wall, and now ilia is a unstoppable reaper coming to collect the oldman soul of volk ?  That's crazy talk.

Volk is definitely getting close to the end of his career because of his age but this is not the fight that is going to end it.

You're also forgetting this sport is very unforgiving and that brutal KO by Islam and taking this fight so soon could have some serious implications come Fight night. Topuria is definitely well rounded enough to get it done.

It’s also important to note volk got ko’ed at 155 and is now returning 4 months later at 145. He will be recovered from the ko but going down a weight class and making a relatively short turnaround after a brutal loss is not a good idea

Even if volk didn’t lose his last fight, he has the age curse (fighters 35 and older in title fights from 115-170 are like 2-30 all time against younger comp) and ilia is one of his hardest tests at 145 regardless

I am going to start off by saying that no KO is GOOD for you, but I think people are really hammering how BRUTAL the islam KO was when is not like volk was faceplanted in the ground, unconcious for minutes, seizing up like Mitchell did.

We have seen guys get KOed and come back soon after to have sucess, just recently Alex Pereira got actually flatlined by Adesanya and stayed unconcious for minutes, he came back shortly after and beat Yan at altitude.

Lee vs. Maverick

KGB's wrestling is underrated and her striking is getting overlooked because of her performance against Natalia Silva. I'm not too high on Maverick's stand-up game.

I was low-key still hoping for the Khamzat - Costa fight, not necessary on this card, Riyadh is only two weeks later but I'll take Bobby any day.

any valid update on Khamzat's injury?

Whittaker vs. Costa
Robert Whittaker, DEC
I cannot pick against Whittaker in this matchup. He did just get starched by DDP though.....

Neal vs. Machado Garry
Geoff Neal, DEC
Geoff Neal will push the pace and put some leather into Garry's face from the opening seconds. Garry is never going to have a chance to set up his range strikes and I believe that Neal is live for a finish here.

I think Topuria has genuine featherweight GOAT potential, if he beats Volk like I think he will then beats Holloway he's already to 5 featherweight of all time.

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 540 Points   |   Tied for 2633rd

Volkanovski vs. Topuria
Ilia Topuria, TKO, R2
I don't think Volk ever looks the same after his 2nd loss to Makhachev. At 35 chin's don't recover like that. Look for the young Topuria, a KO artist, make nasty work of Volk. Sorry!

Whittaker vs. Costa
Robert Whittaker, DEC
Costa might just be the most overrated fighter in MW. I wouldn't take too much from Whittaker vs. Du Plessis bout. If it was Costa fighting Dricus it would probably been worse

Tuivasa vs. Tybura
Tai Tuivasa, TKO, R1
Not too confident on Tuivasa but he should get the job done

Neal vs. Machado Garry
Ian Machado Garry, TKO, R2
Neal is good but Garry is just better. He has INSANE potencial to be a title contender, his last 3 we're an absolute chef's kiss

Hernandez vs. Aliskerov
Ikram Aliskerov, SUB, R2
First test for Aliskerov. Hawes had a terrible chin, Alves out of prime & on short notice. I do think Hernandez skill set can get him out of the first round but falling flat in the second. Aliskerov showed his grappling on DWCS, hoping he does the same here
