Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 5 Perfect, 525 Points | Tied for 3052nd
Alexander Volkanovski, DEC
This is going to look a lot like the last Max fight imo. Volk shows levels but Ilia is tough enough to go to a decision and maybe snatch a couple rounds
Whittaker vs. Costa
Paulo Costa, TKO, R3
Paulo throws up a stupid Hail-Mary and it works. All of MMA Twitter malds as Paulo proceeds to call out Khamzat and then pull out again 6 months from now. Paulo then KTFO Bo Nickal and Strickland en route to then becoming the champ in 2025 by ******** Leon headkick in Round 5 to take Khamzat's 0. The entire world copes and seethes as our glorious chad gets on the mic after killing the Middleweight division for the foreseeable future and announces his move up to Light Heavyweight.
Neal vs. Machado Garry
Ian Machado Garry, DEC
A victory for the bad guys
Dvalishvili vs. Cejudo
Henry Cejudo, DEC
I don't even think Henry beats Merab tbh but PLEASE
Hernandez vs. Kopylov
Anthony Hernandez, SUB, R2
Y'all are sleeping hard on Fluffy, I like some Kopylov just as much as the next guy but this stylistic matchup is not it for him.
Lemos vs. Dern
Mackenzie Dern, DEC
Last time Dern fought I had a feeling she would lose but picked her anyway. **** it I'm not learning from my mistakes. Lemos is just a power merchant with 0 technique and I think age is catching up to her
Rogério de Lima vs. Tafa
Justin Tafa, TKO, R2
I liked the calculated Tafa we saw last time, he picked his shot at the perfect moment. If he does that again he should be able to crack the chin pretty easily.
Nakamura vs. Vera
Rinya Nakamura, DEC
If Fernie can survive to a decision so can Vera
Zhang vs. Ribeiro
Mingyang Zhang, TKO, R1
This guy lost to Askar Mozharov lmfao I feel like a dumbass picking him but I also think Ribeiro chin is super suspect
Quinlan vs. Barlow
Danny Barlow, DEC
Quinlan crumbled last fight at the first sign of adversity, I think he can survive three rounds but that's about it
Woodburn vs. Elliott
Val Woodburn, TKO, R1
Elliott went life and death with a not very great guy on DWCS, Val isn't good but I think he can power merchant Elliott out of there if he lands clean
Lee vs. Maverick
Miranda Maverick, DEC
Wrestle**** for 3 rounds, if Lee's tdd holds up she prob wins but it's wmma so honestly who cares

Rinya Nakamura, SUB, R2
Nakamura is a high level wrestler and once he lands the takedown he keeps relentless pressure on top and stays busy working subs or advancing positions. At 36 years old Vera is past his prime and already has 2 SUB losses on his record. He gets another one here.

Alexander Volkanovski, DEC
My early thoughts on the card. I think the card could be better for a PPV, but some good betting spots. Topuria will be champion one day, but I don't think it's this week. I was on Topuria from before he got to the UFC and I felt he had championship potential from his very first fights. But right now Volk is too much to handle. How has Volk gone from being the pound for pound best fighter, almost beating a future LW all time great to being an underdog in a division he has never lost in. Because of a short notice fight for which he had to make a massive weight cut, was unprepared and against the best LW (I think future best LW of all time). Volk has better wrestling, trains with Craig Jones and will not get submitted even though Topuria has fabulous grappling and his striking and volume is fantastic. More than that his distance management on the feet and speed when closing distance is incredible. I love Topuria, but this is not his time yet.
Whittaker vs. Costa
Robert Whittaker, DEC
Everyone is down on Whittaker. Mainly because of the DDP knock out. There are rumours that I have heard that he was injured going into that fight, and if you know anything about the man you know he will not bring that up as an excuse. He has better wrestling, striking, 5 round cardio with his only worry being his chin. He blitzes mixing up punches and kicks and gets out quick. He should be faster than Costa, who is unlikely to catch him. I feel Costa (if he makes weight) is more of a social medica figure than a fighter now, and could not finish the glass jawed Rockhold last time out. Give me Whittaker.
Neal vs. Machado Garry
Geoff Neal, TKO, R2
Everyone hates Garry. I do too. And his style of fighting, keeping distance and striking at range will look similar to how Wonderboy fought Neal. The difference for me is that Garry has no chin, and Neal at some point will catch him. And if you get almost put out by Song, then Neal is sleeping you. I am not a believer in Ian Machado Garry, even if he wins this he will never be champ.
Dvalishvili vs. Cejudo
Henry Cejudo, DEC
I can't believe how much Cejudo is being under rated here. This is a 3 round fight, and Cejudo will have much better striking, power and pressure. And he will leg kick the hell out of Merab. Merab could get takedowns, sure, but is he going to be able to hold Henry down? Not a chance. Even with repeated takedowns in a 3 round fight Henry will make adjustments without getting tired, and he will put the damage on Merab. I really like Cejudo here
Hernandez vs. Kopylov
Anthony Hernandez, SUB, R3
I really like Kopylov. I really do. But he is getting drowned here. Fluffy is relentless, and Kopylov needs time to get his range and put his combinations together. Fluffy is not going to allow that. This should be a smothering.

Amanda Lemos, DEC
Prelim picks - I am less familiar with some of the fighters on the prelims, so will need to study more tape. But this fight I really like. I have not been impressed by Dern's grappling in MMA. Who has she submitted? No one. Not even pure strikers such as Marina Rodriguez. I used to think that despite her terrible takedowns, if Dern got it to the ground even for a minute it was over. That has definitely not been the case. And even though she is tough, and aggressive and has improving striking I just do not see her being able to outstrike Lemos. If it hits the ground I think Lemos will stay safe. Good fight but I like Lemos here.
Rogério de Lima vs. Tafa
Marcos Rogério de Lima, DEC
I don't know what to make of this fight. I think Tafa is really over rated after that KO of Lane, and I am not sure how Lima's cardio holds up in the later rounds. I think Lima mainly loses by submission but he will still have a grappling edge here if he can get it down. Tafa has decent boxing but Lima may go to the leg kicks and try to stay out of range, especially seeing that Tafa has good counter striking when people rush in. Hard to call this fight but I think the leg kicks, cage grappling and wrestling may give Lima an edge.
Nakamura vs. Vera
Rinya Nakamura, SUB, R1
Layup. Rinya by submission, likely rear naked choke when Vera gives up his back while trying to get up
Zhang vs. Ribeiro
Brendson Ribeiro, TKO, R1
Two bad, hittable fighters who will not last more than a round and a half. Give me Ribeiro as being the more powerful. physical guy.
Quinlan vs. Barlow
Danny Barlow, TKO, R2
Need to watch tape on Barlow, but I just want to fade Quinlan at this point
Woodburn vs. Elliott
Val Woodburn, TKO
I could likely change my pick after watching tape, but I feel Elliott is there to be hit and put out cold, and Woodburn is capable of doing that.
Lee vs. Maverick
Miranda Maverick, DEC
Maverick should get the takedowns and top control and ride this one out to a decision

Marcos Rogério de Lima, DEC
Tafa is a can crusher with one punch knockout power and not much else. De Lima is the much more well-rounded fighter and has fought much better competition. If he can survive the first round he's going to make this look easy.

Alexander Volkanovski, DEC
The experience will put Volk on top in what I think will be a very close decision. Topuria will be more active in the early rounds with Volk taking over late.
Whittaker vs. Costa
Robert Whittaker, TKO, R3
Feels like there is a lot more on the line for Whittaker here. Another loss and the questions will be raised on if Whittaker still has it in him, especially if he gets finished early. I think this will bring him into the fight with a better more desperate, but calculated mindset that get him a late finish.
Neal vs. Machado Garry
Geoff Neal, DEC
I don't think this will happen but please don't let this man keep winning. Go show him those Handz of Steel.
Dvalishvili vs. Cejudo
Merab Dvalishvili, DEC
The machine won't let up on the pressure and despite Cejudo being a much better wrestler than Yan I think we see a fight very similar to Merab vs Yan. Dominant 50-45 statement for Merab solidifying his spot for the next title shot.

Anthony Hernandez, TKO, R2
Kopylov taking this on shorter notice and Hernandez was expecting a better more well rounded fighter. Thinking he'll be more prepared, and make better adjustments. I got Kopylov taking the first round but Hernandez dominating the 2nd and getting the finish.
Lemos vs. Dern
Amanda Lemos, DEC
There might be some recency bias here but Dern looked like she had never been in a fight before against Andrade so I'm expecting more of the same and a well-rounded dominant performance from Amanda Lemos.
Rogério de Lima vs. Tafa
Justin Tafa, TKO, R1
Justin "Can Man" Tafa. Walmart Tai Tuivasa, BUT, Lima beats ancient old guys or cans as well. Tafa with the round 1 KO to set himself up to be starched by a better ranked heavyweight.
Nakamura vs. Vera
Rinya Nakamura, SUB, R1
Not much to say about this one. Gonna end real quick. Vera wouldn't even be solid in the LFA.
Zhang vs. Ribeiro
Brendson Ribeiro, TKO, R3
Need to watch previous fights, really have no idea what these guys are like but seems to me like a guaranteed KO/TKO from someone.
Quinlan vs. Barlow
Josh Quinlan, DEC
Feels like a toss up. Quinlan takes over late. Split decision.
Woodburn vs. Elliott
Oban Elliott, DEC
Woodburn has the power to flatline Elliott but Elliott is the more well-rounded fighter in my opinion and the later this fight goes, the more it will favor Elliott.
Lee vs. Maverick
Miranda Maverick, SUB, R2
Lots of wrestling. Hopefully this one just ends quick.

Amanda Lemos, DEC
Had a really hard time deciding on this one. I could 100% see Lemos doing to Dern what Andrade did and taking a dominant decision full of violence or getting the finish. On the flip side I see how easily Weili got Lemos to the mat and I could see Dern getting her down and riding out a decision. Ultimately Dern's wrestling is nowhere near Weili's though so I can't bank on that. I'll side with Lemos

I don't see merab spamming takedowns on Cejudo but his activity may cause Cejudo some problems. Cejudo might be on a decline but I think he will stop merabs tds and can catch him with some solid shots i think he will win a close dec.
