Not sure if this is confirmed but Alatangheili might be fighting Chris Gutierrez on this card as a replacement. Big opportunity if true.

Irina Alekseeva is ass guys. She only lives on her physicality which wont be an advantage for her here as Melissa is very big and strong, both have struggled with the 135 weight limit. Melissa has good boxing from a balanced stance and can strike moving backwards as well, she has good takedowns and a smothering topgame. Irina also tends to gas out quickly if she can't bully her opponent early. Her record says 5-1 but at least the first 2 ones are amateur fights (3 minute rounds) so at best she's 3-1.
Melissa is 5-0 as a pro but also has 9 amateur fights in the british amateur scene which is quite good, so she has the experience advantage as well.

I think she is a step above Irina and she should be a bigger favorite, I expect her to move to a -200 as soon as more people have had time to cap this fight.

Predictions: 6 of 11 Winners, 1 Perfect, 340 Points   |   Tied for 3360th

Yusuff vs. Barboza
Sodiq Yusuff, DEC
At this stage in his career I don't think that I can confidently bet on Barboza. He can get it done with another Highlight Reel-worthy finish, but he'd have to get it done early like he did vs Billy Q IMO. Yusuff in my mind has a few more ways to win with a bit less risk involved.

Maia vs. Araujo
Jennifer Maia, DEC
I really don't like betting on these women's fights. I hate how so many journeywomen are able to still hang on in the UFC.

Pereira vs. Barriault
Michel Pereira, DEC
I think Michel is hitting his stride. Even if he missed weight when he was gonna fight WB I still think he's an adequate gatekeeper of the Welterweight rankings.

Rodriguez vs. Saaiman
Cameron Saaiman
Saaiman has been perfect thus far and seems to have been more dominant at this level when comparing to CeeRod, who has a similar level of pro experience.

Cháirez vs. Lacerda
Edgar Cháirez, DEC
How the **** can you genuinely believe in Lacerda?

Yoder vs. Ducote
Emily Ducote, DEC
Yoder is more washed.

Elkins vs. Brown
Darren Elkins, DEC
Kinda wild to me that Darren is still fighting at all. Experience advantage perhaps for the win?

Lisboa vs. Oliveira
Ravena Oliveira, TKO, R2
With both of them on a finish streak, I think the younger one will maybe pull it off.

Gutierrez vs. Alatengheili
Chris Gutierrez, TKO, R2
El Guapo has already fought some ranked BWs and I think he'll be especially motivated after the Munoz fight. I think he'll get a finish.

Martinez vs. Yanez
Adrian Yanez, TKO, R2
Coming off a KO like the one he did against Font will be hard but I think Yanez can get that done.

Alekseeva vs. Dixon
Melissa Dixon, TKO
Eh IDK man.

Yusuff vs. Barboza
Sodiq Yusuff, SUB, R3
I wonder what the main event underdog record in the apex is? Sodiqs inactivity worries me but I'll go with the younger, more well rounded fighter who's taken way less damage in his career.

Maia vs. Araujo
Jennifer Maia, DEC
Araujo looked so old and slow in her last fight. Her only chance to win is by finish in the first round & she couldnt even do that against glass chin ribas

Martinez vs. Yanez
Adrian Yanez, TKO, R3
Difficult fight to pick. I literally just switched from Martinez to yanez. Martinez is good but got KO'd by Davey grant and dropped against Alejandro Perez. I picked font to beat yanez because I noticed the holes in yanez striking defense. Martinez win over said nurmagomedov is impressive but said isn't much of a boxer which seems to be martinez weakness

Rodriguez vs. Saaiman
Cameron Saaiman, DEC
Extremely hard fight to predict. I just see something special in saaiman. Wouldn't surprise me in no matter who wins

Cháirez vs. Lacerda
Edgar Cháirez, SUB, R1
Edgar going to do the same thing he did 3 weeks ago. Lacerda is terrible

Pereira vs. Petroski
Michel Pereira, DEC
I like Pereira at middleweight & I do not like petroski on short notice

Yoder vs. Ducote
Emily Ducote, TKO, R2
I don't think I've ever had this much confidence in a 12-8 fighter

Elkins vs. Brown
TJ Brown, DEC
Cant pick old man Elkins but he'll probably win

Gutierrez vs. Alatengheili
Chris Gutierrez, DEC
Gutierrez is a better striker in a mostly standup fight and alatengheili is coming in on like a weeks notice

Why is the co-main a pair of 35+ year old boomers that have a combined 20 fights in the UFC with 18 going to a decision and 2 ending in a finish with neither having any shot at a title in the future?

What about this matchup specifically changed in the last 3 years? Vivi is older sure, so is Jennifer. They're past the point where their game is evolving much. Vivi gasses in some fights and her chin is more compromised from her cuts though it should be noted she matched Grasso in strike output in rd4 and rd5. Jennifer has about double the amount of fights so more experience. They're essentially fighting people on the same level though, close to the top of the division or at the top of it.

Jennifer does well when she can counterstrike because she's good in the pocket with body rocking side to side. Whenever she is posed with long range weapons, jabs, kicks, she has a much harder time. Her TDD is also not great. Vivi has all of the above weapons but has her own weaknesses as mentioned above.

I'll happily take either one (in this case Vivi) at +130 or +140 in a pickem fight.

Vivi looked ancient in her last fight. She fought the worst gameplan ever (he gameplan was pull guillotine) and gassed out after the first one. It didn’t even look like she wanted to be in there

Barbhoza is getting older, I don't think he has the cardio to hang in the later rounds. Plus I think Yusuff will grapple which might limiit the Barboza offense.

I mean she did it once and it's the first time I remember her doing it. Yeah always a bad decision but hardly a pattern. She always tires very fast from grappling, probably uses strength more than technique. She still has a good TD in her pocket to secure a round though. It just comes at a cost for her.

The big difference in the matchup is that Maia comes from exposing the overhyped O'Neill, and in her last fights she has shown that she can work very well with her Muay Thai combinations, bringing out the best parts in the strking department.

Since she arrived at the UFC, Araujo has always had the problem of slowing down in the final part of the fight and despite having power in her hands, I think the only way she can defeat Maia would be using grappling strategies.

Honestly need to see if Marrote has a  chin and  good defense and if he does, I wouldn’t mind a shot on him, Terrance McKinney simply don’t win fight that go over 2 and a half minute, It’s not that hard for pro fighter to go past 2 minute of fights.

I don’t like betting one round warrior fighters in general unless they’re fighting someone terrible that they can first round finish
