What does Kennedy being a great human being have to do with anything?

With the exception of one off performance against Jung, Kennedy has been pretty good in the UFC. His performance against Negumereanu wasn't stellar, but I thought he won that fight. This is Jacobys 3rd tough opponent in a row. His last two performances have actually been decent and he arguably should have beat Rountree.

I lean Kennedy but its a close fight. Big reach advantage as always and he's the younger fighter with good momentum. I think losing that split to Negumereanu taught him a lot because he's been on a finish streak ever since. Roberson is a bum but I think Cutelaba and Clark are solid wins. 31 is not old at all for a guy to really start hitting his stride, especially when we're talking about somebody as big as Kennedy. Takes time to grow into a frame like that and really learn how to use it.

Beside Boser vs Camer, all the rest of the card is good for a fight night, I think this card is like a solid 7 out of 10, it’s one of the better fight night cards out their

They’re been some horrible ufc card this year, but this ain’t one of them

You're the man! It will definitely be difficult to predict the exact outcome if the fight plays standing. If Kennedy works a gameplan it should be an easy night...

Yeah I couldn't disagree more about this card not having good fights. This card was on its way to being one the better Fight Night cards of the year before the main event got screwed up. Umar is must see TV and Corey was a tremendous test. Font is nowhere near as interesting a matchup but it's still a great main event for a Fight Night. Props to the UFC for keeping Kyler and Hadley on this card. Both of those guys got good opponents as replacements. Losing Umar just sucks.

The only completely out of place fight on this card is Boser/Camur. It's arguably the most low level fight on the card and I haven't the slightest clue why its on the main card. Definitely seems like a loser goes home fight, so maybe the UFC thinks there's a good chance that one doesn't go the distance? Both guys coming out swinging fighting for their jobs?

Maybe Camur has improved some in the past 2 years and the UFC are trying to get him back in the win column? He's only 27 so it's not out of the realm of possibility he's gotten better. All I know is I'll take anyone with a pulse against Boser at this point.

Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 480 Points   |   Tied for 1819th

Barcelos vs. Phillips
Kyler Phillips, DEC
I feel for Barcelos here. He’s getting a young killer after getting an extremely winnable fight taken away from him because of a pull out. He’s still very capable but he’s not the same guy he was a couple years ago. I’d imagine his durability is also worse after that brutal KO. Phillips is super skilled but he does lack cardio when he goes crazy. But overall he’s super promising and should touch Raoni up for 3 rounds

Wells vs. Harris
Jeremiah Wells, TKO, R1
This is a fight between guys who are super similar, at this career wise. Both are older guys who are still at prospect stage with a chance to break out. I think skill wise Wells is better everywhere aside from pure Jiu Jitsu. Better technique on the feet, bigger power and better wrestling. I think he also has better durability. The way I see it playing out is a feeling out process early before Wells explodes into Harris with a big shot, probably a left hook or right hand that stiffs Harris

Quarantillo vs. Jackson
Billy Quarantillo, TKO, R2
Another great fight. I always enjoy watching Billy Q. He’s a solid top 20 guy who is always consistent. He took a hard L to Barboza but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna lose to Jackson. He’s just gonna put it on Damon from the start of the fight. Jackson is a good hammer but a bad nail and I see Billy Q putting the pressure on and never letting go until the eventual TKO finish. Of course jackson has his grappling but I don’t see that playing much of a factor as billy Q as skills on the mat as well. Pace and pressure will be key as if you push Jackson he can slow down

Hadley vs. Durden
Jake Hadley, SUB, R2
Banger fight here. Should be on the main card but of course the ufc wants to put the LHW bums on there instead. Rambling aside this one is supperr close for me to call. Mainly because of Hadleys Achilles heel which is wrestling. Durden has gotten progressively better and shown off some decent striking but his wrestling in mma is crazy good. He’s able to get ahold of guys and never let them breath afterwards. His cardio was an issue but he’s sured it up as of late. Submission defense is still a problem for sure which is why I’m picking Hadley. Hadley has great boxing, solid pressure good cardio and good durability. His Jiu Jitsu is also very very good. He’s got slick subs off his back as well as just good transitions in general. I think this is a case where Durden will be winning but gets caught in something tight and has to tap. Probably a guillotine or triangle

Osbourne vs. Almabaev
Asu Almabaev, SUB, R2
Another good flyweight fight here. Ode is Mr. Inconsistent. He’ll have a great performance against a lower level guy then get starched or subbed by a guy who’s at or above his level. I feel like Asu is slightly above his level. Striking wise Asu isn’t super impressive imo. He’s very basic and just has ok technique. He’s got some decent power at least. Where he shines is in the grappling. He’s got slick takedowns and very solid grappling transitions. Especially to the back where he locks up a solid body triangle. Ode makes mistakes by just falling into stuff and I think that’s what happens here. Ode is gonna make a mistake in the transition which is gonna lead to Asu finding the neck. Ode could drop him on the feet but Asu should find his way and get the dub

Did you guys know that Tanner Boser is 4-5 in the UFC but would be 7-2 if the judges came to the right decisions?

Wasn't the Latifi and Naccimato fight, Boser won on damage, but lost because of control, They weren't really robbery, Just not following the criteria of scoring

but that MMA for you, Judges don't use/follow the scoring criteria a lot of the time, and factor control time when the rules say they shouldn't, I won't call those robbery until everybody and especially judges use the critieria.

I got Woodson by decision. I think if Santos was in his prime, he would probably finish Woodson, but Woodson is a veteran at this point

I think Woodson is skilled, but slow for a flyweight. At this point I'm ready to fade him against any fighter that has decent striking as well as power and athleticism. I'm not super impressed with what little I've seen of Santos (drops his hands too often, throws kicks with no setup) but he has hard leg kicks and good power in his hands. If the odds are like +250 or more I might sprinkle a little money on him
